■職務内容
Low-Level Software Engineerは、PlayStation本体の動作を根幹から支える、OS及びそれよりも下層のソフトウェア開発を担うポジションです。具体的には、電源投入からゲーム実行に至るまでの、ブートローダー、ファームウェア、ハイパーバイザ、カーネル、デバイスドライバの設計・実装・最適化を行います。

私たちのチームでは、既存のOSSを単に流用するのではなく、PlayStationの独自ハードウェアアーキテクチャに最適化されたソフトウェアを、自らの手で設計・構築しています。これにより、電源ONからゲームプレイまでの一連のプロセスを高速かつ安定して実現するための土台を提供するとともに、ユーザーが日々安心してゲーム体験を楽しめる環境の確立に大きく貢献しています。

PlayStationにはSoCや複数の専用プロセッサが組み込まれており、これらをシームレスに連携させるには、高度なハードウェア制御や電力管理が欠かせません。そのため、ハードウェアの深い仕様に踏み込んだソフトウェア開発力が求められる、非常にチャレンジングでありながらエキサイティングな技術領域です。また本ポジションでは、コントローラーをはじめとしたPlayStation向け周辺機器に関するファームウェア開発にも関与する機会があり、ゲーム体験をより魅力的にする技術進化にも貢献しています。

・PlayStationの低レイヤソフトウェア開発は、社内外・国内外の多岐にわたるチームと連携しながら進められます。特に新しいハードウェアの立ち上げ期には、商品企画や社内外のハードウェアエンジニアと密接に連携し、仕様の検討段階から深く関わります。また、市場やゲーム開発者からのフィードバックをタイムリーに反映させることも求められ、柔軟かつ迅速な開発体制が特徴です。グローバルで多様な視点を取り入れながら、ものづくりの最前線に携わるダイナミックな環境です。

業務内容：
・上記の組織での、ソフトウェア開発業務をお任せします。
・ご経験やご希望に応じて最適なチーム、役割を検討します。
 
■求められるスキル・技術領域
 
【必須（MUST）】
- C/C++言語でのソフトウェア開発経験
- デバイスドライバの開発もしくは組み込みシステムの開発経験
- リアルタイムOS, FreeBSD, Linuxを使った制御ソフトウェア開発経験

【歓迎（WANT）】
- ブートローダーの開発経験
- 仮想化技術のHW/SW専門知識
- Rust言語でのソフトウェア開発経験
- ハードウェアデバッグツール等を使用した組み込み環境でのソフトウェアデバッグスキル
- 大規模なソフトウェアチームでの開発経験
- ネットワークプロトコルスタックの開発経験

【求められる語学力】
英語コミュニケーション必須の業務から最低限の読み書きを必要とする業務まで多くのポジションがあり、英語レベル及び希望に合わせて配属先を検討します。英語レベルが高いほど配属先の幅は大きく広がります。
