Sr. Marketing Operations Manager, Process and AI

US - Remote

At Skillsoft, we believe skills fuel growth. Our mission is to empower every organization and every learner to turn constant change into continuous growth. As part of the team, your skills will help organizations understand what skills they have, what they need next, and how to apply them in ways that drive real performance and progress.

As marketing evolves toward AI-powered workflows, rapidly maturing tools, and agentic systems working alongside humans, this role will ensure that emerging capabilities translates into real, repeatable value for marketers.

Skillsoft is seeking an experienced Sr. Marketing Operations Manager, Process + AI at Skillsoft, to develop and oversee the implementation of an agentic AI roadmap for the marketing organization; identifying, prioritizing, and scaling high-impact AI capabilities that improve how marketing plans, executes, and measures work. You will define what gets built, where it lives across the MarTech stack, and how it scales across teams and shaping how AI actually works for marketers day-to-day.

You will establish AI project governance as a core operating capability—creating the intake, prioritization, delivery, and measurement mechanisms that ensure AI initiatives are aligned to strategy, responsibly implemented, and adopted across teams. In parallel, you will design, refine, and govern marketing processes and the operating model that connects people, workflows, tools, and data into a scalable, continuously improving system. You will balance rapid time-to-impact with a long-term strategic approach, ensuring today's progress builds momentum without constraining future possibilities.

Key Responsibilities

AI Use Case Strategy & Roadmap

  • Own the marketing agentic AI roadmap end-to-end—from opportunity discovery and business case development through pilot, implementation, scaling, and ongoing optimization in partnership with business stakeholders.
  • Identify, define, and shape the highest-priority AI use cases for marketing—translating real marketing needs into clear capability requirements, including inputs, outputs, constraints, and success criteria.
  • Define and apply frameworks for assessing the scaled value and impact of AI capabilities across the marketing organization.
  • Distinguish between highly controlled, workflow-driven AI use cases and more exploratory applications, guiding how each should be implemented and governed across the tech stack.

Solutions Framing & Technical Partnership

  • Act as the strategic bridge between marketing teams and internal/external technical partners—including IT, Commercial Operations, Sales, and Legal—to drive shared understanding and sustain execution momentum.
  • Pressure-test proposed solutions for feasibility, durability, and long-term relevance as AI capabilities evolve.
  • Stay ahead of AI innovations and identify how marketing thoughtfully adopts new capabilities, while maintaining a feedback loop with internal stakeholders to influence the marketing agentic roadmap direction where appropriate.

Process Design & Governance

  • Design, document, and govern marketing processes and standards (work intake, planning, campaign execution, measurement, and tooling workflows), identifying processes that can migrate to AI and driving continuous improvement and consistent adoption across teams.
  • Establish and run AI project governance for marketing (intake, prioritization, resourcing, stage gates, risk/compliance reviews, and success metrics) to ensure initiatives deliver measurable business value.
  • Own documentation and lifecycle management for marketing AI and operational processes (use cases, controls, data inputs/outputs, change logs, and performance reporting) to keep systems compliant and operationally sound.

Change Management & Enablement

  • Champion change management, enablement, and adoption for new agentic capabilities and process changes through training, communications, playbooks, workshops, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Shape AI-powered workflows that feel intuitive, purposeful, and trusted by marketers—designing for adoption, not just technical possibility.
  • Develop playbooks, enablement materials, and working examples that help teams understand how and when to use AI effectively.
  • Establish feedback loops with end users to bring the internal customer perspective to planning, implementation, and optimization.

Future-Facing Perspective

  • Maintain a forward-looking view of emerging AI capabilities—particularly as agentic systems, skills-based orchestration, and new automation paradigms mature.
  • Exercise sound judgment about when new capabilities are ready to be tested and applied, bringing a long-term perspective to near-term decisions.

Skills & Qualifications Required

  • 10+ years of professional experience in marketing operations with a focus on process and technology with a Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, business, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in marketing operations, business systems, process optimization, agent delivery, and governance—preferably in a complex, matrixed organization.
  • Strong understanding of how marketing teams practically work—and where friction, inefficiency, or opportunity exists within marketing technology stacks, system integration, and workflow design.
  • Prior experience with Salesforce Data Cloud, Salesforce Marketing Cloud Account Engagement (fka Pardot), Asana, HockeyStack, and/or 6Sense all desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate between business needs and technical teams by simplifying complexity, creating scalable processes, and influencing cross-functional stakeholders without needing to be the hands-on implementer.
  • Comfort operating in ambiguity, with the judgment to know when precision and control are required versus more open-ended, exploratory solutions.
  • Curiosity and confidence to explore new technologies—especially agentic AI and automation—including experience building roadmaps, prioritizing use cases, and partnering to deliver AI initiatives responsibly.
  • Recent experience establishing lightweight governance models for AI/MarTech work (intake, stage gates, measurement, and stakeholder alignment) to drive clarity, accountability, and adoption.
  • Experience in change management and guiding teams through transitions with clear communication and support to ensure successful adoption of new tools and processes.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to clarify, align, and influence across disciplines, and to convey complex technical concepts persuasively to non-technical audiences.

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
