Software Engineer, Java - Help Experience

Squarespace's Help Experience team is looking for a Backend Software Engineer to join us in our Dublin office. You will work directly with Senior and Staff Engineers, Data Analysts, and the Customer Operations department to provide solutions to the complex challenges our Support Agents are facing using modern software engineering technologies and practices.

Our team's mission is to empower our customers' business growth through an integrated support platform, which combines personalized self-help guidance with one-on-one support. Our essential tools provide the assistance that our customers need to succeed, all while enhancing operational efficiency. These tools are used by our Customer Operations department of more than six hundred people, and handle hundreds of thousands of requests per day.

This is a hybrid role, based 3 days a week out of our office in Dublin, Ireland. The Help Experience team is geographically dispersed between Dublin and NYC, and you will report to the Engineering Team Manager based in our Dublin office.

What You Will Do

  • Develop highly scalable Java backend services
  • Solve high-volume, production-level challenges to ensure our systems are fast, efficient, and reliable.
  • Collaborate with top engineers, designers, and product teams to create features that enhance user experience.
  • Ensure the reliability, security, and scalability of critical systems that power global businesses.

Who You Are

  • 3+ years of experience with Java
  • Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Experience with large-scale, production software systems
  • Experience with API Integration
