Associate Director, International Marketing

Remote, Netherlands

Squarespace is looking for an Associate Director of International Marketing to create and guide the strategic direction and operational execution of our expansion across Europe.

You'll lead a team based in Amsterdam, hire and manage local agencies, and work cross-functionally with the marketing team and other Squarespace teams. You'll oversee the planning & execution of localized go-to-market plans that include Culture & Community Initiatives, Communications, CRM, Paid Media, and Product Marketing efforts.

You'll work hybrid from our coworking space in Amsterdam and report to our VP, International & Go-To-Market.

You'll Get To…

  • Create and drive the strategic direction and operational execution of our international expansion in Europe
  • Build Squarespace's cultural relevance through the planning and execution of strategic Community & Culture initiatives
  • Build and manage a marketing team to execute holistic marketing plans
  • Hiring and managing local partners or resources (briefing, providing strategic direction, executional oversight) and active partners, customers and vendors to secure their collaboration in marketing initiatives, including the monitoring and tracking of projects from start to finish
  • Understanding product market fit, competitive insights, customer behavior, consumer media consumption and trends consumer insights to deeply understand our European consumer and to develop insight-driven marketing
  • Drive growth and impact across all major international KPIs: customers, revenue, conversion, marketing ROI, LTV, and retention

Who We're Looking For

  • 12-15+ years of marketing experience across both digital and traditional marketing channels, experience working in SaaS
  • Proven success leading and developing a high performing team; ideally, experience across both in-house and agency (or in-house agency) support models
  • Experience developing and leading go-to-market strategy across Europe
  • Deep understanding of localized and/or go-to market strategies, and how product fit, consumer, community, culture and macro perspectives influence in-market plans
  • A collaborative approach, with experience influencing cross-functional teams in a complex organization and a track record of building productive relationships with a broad range of internal partners
  • Flexibility and comfort with ambiguity; able to define priorities and identify trade-offs when faced with overlapping needs
  • Skilled presenter and communicator, ready to deliver insights and recommendations to a wide variety of audiences, including executive leadership.
