Senior Motion Designer

Our team is seeking a Senior Motion Designer to bring our products and brand to life through animations, prototypes, and videos. You possess strong conceptual design skills as well as the ability to tell compelling stories through motion.

You demonstrate respect for the details, a passion for the power of design, and a thorough understanding of how one affects the other. You’re constantly learning and mastering new tools as a means to realize your creative vision. You have knowledge in a wide array of technologies, techniques, and applications, with an expertise in one or two specialties. While you spend most of your time working in motion, your passion for design drives you to create polished final products from a rough initial direction.

This role reports to the Senior Design Manager in our New York office.

You'll Get To…

  • Create proofs of concept that enhance digital experiences and help tell stories.
  • Create animations and videos for a range of front-site projects (Squarespace.com), internal initiatives and brand campaign work, including campaign microsites and social. 
  • Collaborate with designers and writers to craft stories through motion.
  • Collaborate with designers and other engineers to incorporate animations and prototypes into production.
  • Ability to foresee design and motion trends to keep Squarespace at the forefront of design for web.

Who We're Looking For

  • Portfolio of shipped work that shows motion as part of UI and UX experience.
  • You are an expert in Adobe Creative Suite, C4D and Redshift as well as working knowledge of Figma. 
  • Expansive knowledge of workflow with an ability to assess projects and provide accurate work timeline and expectations
  • Have a passion for telling stories including storyboarding, editing footage, and motion graphics/animation.
  • Are equally comfortable working autonomously and in collaborative cross-discipline teams.
  • Ability to take creative direction and respond to feedback in a timely manner while being respectful of project deadlines.
  • Have an eye for detailed design and can execute against a variety of aesthetics and styles.

Cash Compensation Range: $105,500- $170,200 USD

The base salary for this position will vary based on job-related criteria including relevant skills, experience, and location, among other factors.

In addition to the cash compensation above (which includes base salary and, where applicable for eligible roles, may include on-target commissions or overtime pay), Squarespace employees are eligible to receive an incentive award as part of their total compensation.
