Senior Software Engineer, Frontend - Core Frontsite

Squarespace is looking for a Senior Frontend Engineer to join the Frontsite Core team. You are an experienced Frontend Engineer who keeps up with the latest techniques in web design. You have experience solving impactful projects. You have a rare blend of creative, technical, and leadership mindsets. No detail escapes you. Our team spawns new projects from both strategic hypotheses and creative projects. We use data-driven strategy, iteration, and play to create an experience worthy of the customers we attract. This agile team has the freedom to perpetually prototype and integrate new technologies. You’ll work side by side with world-class designers, product managers, and engineers to produce the best work of your career.

This is a hybrid role working from our NYC office 3 days per week. You will report to the Engineering Manager.

You'll Get To…

  • Create our impactful websites, including squarespace.com
  • Develop new projects with our strategy and creative teams, helping people learn about Squarespace
  • Build new prototypes to push the boundaries of our developer platform
  • Improve site design and performance across a variety of modern devices

Who We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of industry experience
  • 1+ years of team leadership experience
  • You've built several outstanding websites from concept to launch
  • Development skills using JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
  • Familiar with the latest web techniques and libraries (React, etc.) and understand their opportunities and tradeoffs
  • Working knowledge of responsive web design and cross-platform compatible coding techniques
  • Experience using data to form and validate strategic hypothesis
  • Comfortable with rapid experimentation and iteration

Cash Compensation Range: $128,500 – $231,500 USD

The base salary for this position will vary based on job-related criteria including relevant skills, experience, and location, among other factors.

In addition to the cash compensation above (which includes base salary and, where applicable for eligible roles, may include on-target commissions or overtime pay), all Squarespace employees are eligible to receive equity in the company as part of their total compensation.
