Position Overview

We are seeking a leader who will build and lead the Commercial team, guiding the company through complex landscapes and contributing to Stanley 1913's vision. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, meeting challenges head on, and stretching outside of their comfort. They will have the opportunity to demonstrate their experience as a seasoned global legal professional and apply them in a start-up environment. Hiring and leading team members, including lawyers and legal professionals domestically and internationally. This individual will lead with integrity and drive significant impact through accountability and genuine care for the business.

What You'll Do

  • Serve as the primary point of contact and lead lawyer to key members of the Global Leadership Team
  • Mentor and lead a growing legal department
  • Serve as the global subject matter lead for Commercial/Contracts. This includes sales & distribution, marketing and advertising, in-bound purchase and service agreements.
  • Lead a team that supports international regions in; employment, real estate, product compliance, customer complaints, litigation and other adversarial matters
  • Ensure that center-led programs are implemented in the regions
  • Develop outstanding compliance programs
  • Collaborate across teams to build legal strategies that support ambitious growth plans
  • Develop and implement legal policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
  • Support compliance, data privacy, and intellectual property strategy as the company scales and expands into new markets

Education and Experience

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admitted to practice law in at least one U.S. state, with the ability to acquire admission in Washington if not already licensed.
  • 12+ years of legal experience, with 5+ years spent in a corporate legal department.
  • Extensive experience working with a prominent consumer brand; working in a fast-paced environment; designing, creating, and implementing new processes and programs to support the needs of a dynamic high-growth company.
  • Prior experience leading lawyers and paralegals, including team members located outside of the United States.
  • Proven track record of successfully implementing legal strategies in a global context.
  • Outstanding negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to compete and influence at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong command of the needs of a multinational company
  • Ability to effectively prioritize tasks and deliver flawless results under pressure
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, with a focus on developing and mentoring high-performing teams.

 

The base pay range for this position is for a successful candidate within the state listed. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on multiple factors such as work location, job-related knowledge, skills, qualifications, and experience.

Salary Range

$210,000 - $240,000 USD
