
Legal Counsel / Senior Legal Counsel - Corporate

Position Overview:
You will be part of the StepStone Corporate Legal team and will engage in a broad range of general corporate, commercial contracts, securities, cybersecurity, privacy and litigation management matters. You will also be responsible for instituting and executing best practices and improving processes and procedures with respect to various legal and operational initiatives.
Essential Job Functions:
You will work with a range of people across multiple departments, including the corporate finance, accounting, tax, communications, responsible investment and compliance teams and advise on a range of matters, including:
- Corporate governance and subsidiary management
- Drafting and negotiating a range of commercial agreements
- Corporate communications
- ESG and corporate sustainability
- Intellectual property registration and maintenance
- U.S. Securities and Exchange Act reporting
- Securities issuances and other corporate finance transactions
- Management of litigation matters and disputes

Education and Work Experience Requirements:
- Four-year college degree and law degree from an accredited U.S. law school
- Approximately 2 to 4 years of law firm and/or in-house legal experience
- Broad-based corporate law experience
- Experience and familiarity with public companies and securities laws and regulations not required but preferred
- Member of the California Bar or ability to become California Registered In-House Counsel
Salary Range - $150,000 - $215,000
The salary range is an estimate of pay for this position. Actual pay may vary depending on job-related factors that can include location, education, skill, and experience. The salary range does not include any benefits or other forms of possible compensation that may be available to employees.
