Colorectal Cancer (CRC)

  • HARMONi-GI3: Phase 3 clinical study intended to evaluate ivonescimab in combination with chemotherapy compared with bevacizumab plus chemotherapy.

Ivonescimab is an investigational therapy not presently approved by any regulatory authority other than China’s National Medical Products Administration (NMPA). Summit is headquartered in Miami, Florida, and has additional offices in California, New Jersey, the UK, and Ireland.

Location: Remote US - Field Based

Overview of Role:

Summit Therapeutics is preparing for the US launch of ivonescimab, an intravenous oncology therapy for patients with EGFR-mutated non-squamous NSCLC in the post-TKI setting. This is Summit's first commercial launch, and we are building the commercial infrastructure from the ground up. The National Senior Director, Field Excellence is the single operational counterpart to the VP Sales. This role does not carry a sales quota and does not conduct promotional activity with customers. It exists to absorb the full operational burden from the sales organization at every level so that every sales leader can focus on what matters most: building prescriber relationships and ensuring appropriate patients have access to ivonescimab. This role manages two Directors of Field Excellence (East and West), who each partner with an Area Business Director. Each Director in turn manages a team of Field Excellence Managers, each of whom partners with one Regional Sales Director in a named geography. The National Senior Director is the top of that embedded hierarchy and the escalation point for every field operational question in the organization. This position reports to the Executive Director, Commercial Operations.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Own the Field Excellence operating model nationally: cadence, standards, tools, and escalation protocols across all geographies
  • Serve as the single operational partner to the VP Sales on territory roster status, IC questions, pull-through gaps, business review preparation, and local market intelligence at the national level
  • Manage and develop the two Directors of Field Excellence (East and West)
  • Own launch readiness across all geographies, confirming that every Field Excellence Manager is operationally ready before the first prescriber interaction
  • Partner with Commercial Excellence on IC plan governance, territory alignment, and CRM standards, translating field patterns into national fixes rather than managing them geography by geography
  • Build the business review infrastructure: the templates, cadence, and analytical framework that every level of the sales hierarchy runs on
  • Run the field intelligence loop, systematically surfacing what is happening in the field and routing it to the right HQ function so local issues get resolved nationally
  • Coordinate HCP credentialing and office access, including RxVantage management in partnership with the field team
  • Lead account-level and regional performance analysis: not just the number, but the local context and story behind it that a national report cannot provide
  • All other duties as assigned

Experience, Education and Specialized Knowledge and Skills:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree required
  •  12+ years of commercial operations experience in oncology, with direct experience supporting a field sales organization in a dedicated operational or business partner capacity. Experience in IV oncology or buy-and-bill strongly preferred. Biomarker-driven product experience is a plus
  • Specialized Knowledge and Skills: Demonstrated ability to manage a team and build an operating model from scratch in a pre-launch or early commercial environment. Track record of partnering at the VP or senior director level inside a sales hierarchy, not just supporting sales from HQ. Strong enough analytically to own the business review framework and fluent enough operationally to manage IC, territory, and roster questions in real time. Comfortable with ambiguity and able to build structure without waiting for it. Veeva CRM experience preferred
  • Travel: Approximately 40% domestic travel
