As a Technical Writer, you will be instrumental in designing and creating comprehensive documentation that meets the needs of our technical audience. You'll work closely with engineering teams, subject matter experts, and UX designers to translate complex technical information into clear, accessible content that enhances the user experience.
What will you do as a Technical Writer at Tessell?
- Create Comprehensive Documentation – Develop and maintain detailed documentation for technical audiences, including developer guides, API references, networking protocols, and user manuals.
- Ensure Consistency & Clarity – Standardize and document content architecture and templates that adhere to organizational and legal standards.
- Work with Technical Teams – Collaborate with engineers and product teams to gather information, understand complex subject matter, and create accurate documentation.
- Bridge Technical Concepts & User Needs – Translate complex information into simple, polished, and engaging content that meets the needs of target audiences.
- Improve Accessibility & Usability – Champion clear communication and optimize content organization, ensuring technical information is accessible to all users.
- Collaborate Across Teams – Partner with development and support leads to identify documentation repositories, revise and edit content, and determine best solutions for data compilation.
- Expertise in Technical Writing: Proven ability to create clear, accurate technical documentation with strong research and writing skills.
- Technical Aptitude: Ability to quickly learn and understand complex subject matter in software development, database technologies, or cloud computing.
- Content Development Tools: Proficiency with Markdown, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and XML tools for documentation.
- Documentation Standards: Familiarity with documentation best practices and content management systems.
- Content Architecture: Experience in developing information architecture templates and organizing complex information logically.

Your Profile Would Stand Out If You Have:
- Experience with SaaS, cloud services, or database technologies documentation.
- Familiarity with API documentation and reference materials.
- Experience with SDLC (systems development lifecycle).
- Professional certification (e.g., Society for Technical Communication).
- Contributions to open-source documentation projects.
- A passion for making complex technology accessible through exceptional technical writing.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (technical communication, journalism, computer science, etc.) or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 - 4 years of experience in technical writing, including experience creating content for technical audiences.
- Experience with web writing tools (Markdown, HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
- A strong portfolio showcasing technical writing samples and documentation projects.
