Financial Operations Manager

Position Summary:  

The Financial Operations Manager is primarily responsible for financial forecasting and reporting, with a key focus on managing operating expenses across the business, to support achievement of short- and long-term business goals. Partnering with management, the Financial Operations Manager will drive financial best practices and optimize financial opportunities regarding expense management and profitability throughout the organization. The Financial Operations Manager will support the development of the operating plan, forecast process, and management reporting activities. In addition, the Manager will support Treasury activities for the company, including managing lender reporting and covenant compliance required by the company’s credit agreements, cash forecasting, FX risk mitigation, interest rate / earnings maximization, and managing cash investments.  The role will report to the VP of Strategic Finance, lead and oversee a Financial Operations Analyst, and work closely with all functions within the company.  

Essential Job Functions: 

  • Functional Business Partner: Partners with finance leaders, key stakeholders, and business partners to align on business priorities and drive effective solution execution. Acts as the Finance business partner to functional organizations such as Sales, Technology and Marketing. Supports and partners with the VP of Strategic Finance in managing key priorities such as expense management, client profitability and retention, competitive position, product enhancements and other business opportunities.   
  • Expense controls and Monthly Close Activities: Works in partnership with Accounting, produces and distributes recurring and ad hoc management reports and debt lender reports. Responsible for financial reporting accuracy: partners with shared services organizations and ensures adequate control environment to mitigate financial and business risks in collaboration with process owners. Leverages recurring and ad hoc management reporting to identify trends, build business cases, highlight opportunities and risks, and drive business decision making. 
  • Budgeting and Quarterly Forecasting: Creates annual operating plan that is aligned to the strategic plan and performs quarterly re-forecasting to provide visibility into business results to enable business decisions. Provides consultative input or business analyses to support operating planning and forecasting.  
  • Performance Measurement: Uses deep understanding of operating expense structure and trends to identify risks and opportunities to the business. Provides financial and strategic decision support to ensure achievement of short- and long-term financial goals. Assists management in understanding the business dynamics which includes productivity, relationships, model trends, leading indicators, and business statistics 
  • Cash Forecasting: Supports the business in creating and maintaining long-term cash forecasts to ensure health of the business and achievement of KPI metric targets. 
  • Financial Systems: Leverages internal systems including ERP (i.e. Sage Intacct), A/P and spend management systems (e.g. Ramp/Yooz/Concur), and reporting and planning tools to execute responsibilities and automate deliverables. Additionally, this role will support the implementation of a reporting and planning tool (e.g. Workday Adaptive) with the goal of automating reporting and forecasting. 
  • Leadership: Serves as a leader on the Finance team by exhibiting strong cross-functional business partnership across the company, and has a deep focus on managing and developing the Financial Operations Analyst. This includes, but is not limited to, setting and achieving SMART goals for the Financial Operations team to ensure operational and financial efficiency.  

Position Requirements: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance 
  • CFA, CPA, or MBA preferred 
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in accounting, banking, corporate finance and/or treasury roles 
  • At least 1 year of supervisory or managerial experience in a similar corporate work environment preferred 
  • Self-motivated professional with exceptional attention to detail, integrity, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a collaborative approach to team dynamics 
  • Capable of working independently and managing time and projects efficiently 
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal teams, clients, and partners 
  • Highly organized, able to handle multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines without compromising quality 
  • Flexible and adaptable work style, thriving in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment 
  • Demonstrated track record as a trusted business partner, driving insights, actions, and accountability across departments with a customer-focused attitude 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels 
  • Skilled in change management and process improvement, with a creative approach to problem-solving 
  • Experience in developing and presenting business plans, models, and financial forecasts to diverse audiences, from front-line management to leadership 
  • Experience in Salesforce and ERP systems implementation is a plus.

Final salary is based on a number of factors including market location, job-related knowledge, education/training, certifications, key skills, experience, internal peer equity as well as business considerations.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :

$120,000 - $150,000 USD

The above description covers the most significant duties performed but does not include other related occasional work that may be assigned or is completed by the employee.
