VaynerCommerce services as a strategic partner, with an implementation arm across data science, engineering, design, financial modeling, media & creative, and merchandising for brands that want to sustainably grow their Direct-to-consumer business. VaynerCommerce works across Fortune 100, Venture Capital, and Private Equity-backed consumer brands.

What You Will Do:

The Lead SEO Manager is a key strategic leader among our Acquisiton team leads. They collaborate closely with our Paid Media, Growth Marketing, CRM, and Product Managers to increase organic traffic while helping our clients optimize for customer lifetime value and customer acquisition costs. As the Lead SEO Manager, you will manage a team of SEO Specialists while defining the SEO strategy and resulting prioritized SEO tactics to achieve our clients’ success metrics. You are comfortable leading technical SEO projects, overseeing SEO content production, and helping clients understand the impact of your work.

You are exceptional at prioritizing work, setting expectations, and communicating with stakeholders. You can develop a holistic understanding of clients’ businesses and think strategically about how to help them deliver successful SEO results. You understand and appreciate the scientific method. The ideal candidate is proactive, can juggle multiple responsibilities, and excels under pressure. They are comfortable taking on a high level of responsibility.

Responsibilities:

  • Client and Team Management
    • Lead a team of SEO Specialists by being the SEO thought leader who continuously improves our standard of delivery
    • Act as the primary SEO point of contact for your clients
    • Understand and contribute to the shared client strategies that deliver wholistic growth solutions across customer acquisition, conversion, and retention to achieve client success metrics
    • Inspire creativity and innovation into the team’s SEO strategies with forward-thinking and inventive solutions
  • SEO Strategy and Execution
    • Define the SEO strategy and prioritize the resulting on-page, off-page, and technical SEO tactics for each client
    • Oversee the content calendar and collaborate with copywriters to deliver SEO content
    • Drive technical SEO requirements with a team of engineers
    • Build SEO reporting dashboards and present monthly results to clients
    • Perform competitive analysis to monitor and measure each client’s search positioning
    • Maximize efficiency in a constantly evolving environment where the process is fluid and creative solutions are the norm

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience
    • Bachelor's degree (or proof of high fluid intelligence)
    • 5+ years experience in SEO roles
    • Experience as an SEO manager working with different sets of clients in various industries
    • Experience leading SEO teams
    • Experience scaling SEO impact through programmatic and editorial SEO
    • Experience with local SEO
    • Proven track record of success with SEO marketing and proficiency with tools like Semrush, Screaming Frog, Google Analytics 4, Looker Studio, Google Search Console, and Google Page Speed Insights
    • Nice to have: knowledge of client-side and server-side rendering
    • Nice to have: experience in ecommerce strategy, UI/UX strategy, technology
    • Nice to have: experience with Shopify SEO
    • Startup experience is a plus, but if you fit the qualities above, you'll understand what we need

Base Salary

$120,000 - $140,000 USD
