Watchmaker is inviting applications for the full-time position of Product Manager (open to Senior Product Manager) to support our Equinox Library Amplification Kits and NGS Accessories portfolios. 

This position reports to the Associate Director of NGS Product Management and is responsible for ensuring ongoing business success through new product development, expanding the application scope, and proactive life cycle management of our growing Equinox Library Amplification Kits and NGS Accessories portfolios. The ideal candidate will also have a firm understanding of molecular biology, next-generation sequencing and advanced genomics applications.

The position provides an opportunity to gain valuable experience in both product development and cross-functional management to complement a strong technical background.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the Equinox Library Amplification Kit and NGS accessories portfolios expert and champion within the organization, with the ability to flex between the RNA and DNA portfolios as needed, including owning and growing parts of the portfolio, in collaboration with the commercial team.
  • Synthesize market, customer, and sales feedback/intel to define customer and product requirements with associated prioritization.
  • Partner with sales to engage with key customers and cultivate collaborations to drive  innovative product solutions, penetrate key application areas and support broader product adoption
  • Responsible for the creation of marketing collateral, campaign elements, and sales tools (in partnership with our technical marketing team) to convey the value proposition to target markets, support the sales process and the organization’s conference strategy.
  • Manage all marketing facets of product commercialization and lifecycle management, inclusive of but not limited to market assessments, global pricing strategies, documentation, sales training, and demand planning 
  • Manage cross-functional collaborations (R&D, Support, Sales, Quality, and Operations) to ensure successful implementation of product requirements and drive new product development to commercial launch.
  • Support the execution of a multi-year product strategy and roadmap (in collaboration with R&D, commercial and leadership teams) for both new and on-market product offerings for relevant application areas that include opportunity assessment, positioning strategy, financial analysis, and tactical plans to support successful product adoption. 
  • Support on-market product care and be a champion for product care initiatives required to meet/exceed customer’s forecast and requirements
  • Create and maintain competitive assessments, market trends, and product performance
  • Present to senior leadership in regular business reviews and marketing updates

 

Education and Experience

  • MSc degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or an associated scientific field required
  • Minimum of 6 years industry relevant experience, R&D experience considered a plus
  • Product Management experience required and customer-facing roles considered a plus
  • Experience being part of new product development core team or project required

  • Experience in presenting technical information to groups with various scientific backgrounds
  • Creative and critical thinking skills to anticipate customer needs and proactively solve problems
  • Track record of success defining and launching products 
  • Experience in documenting customer/product requirements in a quality management system
  • Experience with standard molecular biology techniques such as PCR/qPCR and next-generation sequencing 
  • This position requires approximately 20% travel (domestic and international)

 

Compensation

The base compensation for the Product Manager, Equinox and NGS Accessories role starts at $100,000 - $120,000 + bonus + equity; actual pay will be adjusted based on skills and experience. Employees are eligible for Flexible Time Off, Holidays, employer covers 75% of base medical plan with buy-up options, employer paid dental, employer paid vision, employer paid $25,000 life/AD&D policy, paid parental leave, and a 401(k) retirement plan.
