Senior Consultant, Data Governance & Strategy

West Monroe is seeking a Senior Consultant with expertise in Data Governance and Strategy to join our growing Data & Analytics practice. This role will focus on helping clients design and implement data governance frameworks, policies, and strategies that enable them to unlock the full value of their data assets. As a Senior Consultant, you will work collaboratively with clients and cross-functional teams to deliver impactful solutions that drive business outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with clients to assess their current data governance maturity and identify gaps.
  • Develop and implement data governance frameworks, policies, and processes tailored to client needs.
  • Lead workshops and stakeholder interviews to define data ownership, stewardship, and accountability models.
  • Design strategies for data quality management, metadata management, and master data management.
  • Provide actionable recommendations for improving data accessibility, security, and compliance.
  • Support clients in aligning data governance initiatives with broader business goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Communicate progress, risks, and findings to clients and internal leadership.
  • Mentor junior team members and foster their growth in data governance and analytics expertise.
  • Support business development efforts by identifying opportunities for additional client engagements.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in data governance, data strategy, or related fields.
  • Proven track record of designing and implementing data governance frameworks in diverse industries.
  • Strong understanding of data management concepts, including data quality, metadata, and master data management.
  • Familiarity with data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and compliance standards.
  • Experience with data governance tools (e.g., Collibra, Informatica, Alation, etc.) is a plus.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills with a focus on delivering client value.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Advanced degrees or certifications in data governance, data management, or analytics are highly preferred.
  • Hybrid role: 2x per week in office
  • Ability to travel to client sites 30 to 50%

Based on pay transparency guidelines, the salary range for this role can vary based on your proximity to one of our West Monroe offices (see table below). Individual salaries are determined by evaluating a variety of factors including geography, experience, skills, education, and internal equity.

Employees (and their families) are covered by medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are able to enroll in our company’s 401k plan, purchase shares from our employee stock ownership program and be eligible to receive annual bonuses. Employees will also receive unlimited flexible time off and ten paid holidays throughout the calendar year. Eligibility for ten weeks of paid parental leave will also be available upon hire date.
