About the Role:
Wing is looking for an Environmental Health and Safety Lead to join our People Team. This role will be based in Palo Alto, CA. In this role you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Program for Wing’s offices, facilities and commercial sites. This role ensures the safety of Wing’s work environment and our employees across all locations. You will oversee the implementation and maintenance of all EHS initiatives and reporting, including but not limited to: EHS management systems, environmental compliance programs, safety compliance, and regional/site oversight.
What You’ll Do:
- Maintain safe and secure work environments (including office facilities, lab facilities and commercial sites) across Wing’s US & global locations (Australia, Finland, UK & Ireland).
- Provide recommendations on how Wing’s Environmental Health & Safety programs should evolve as Wing scales (increases the number of commercial sites and staff).
- Proactively identify EH&S gaps and find mitigation solutions, implement EH&S related solutions in partnership with cross-functional teams such as Compliance, Facilities, Operations, HR and Technical teams.
- Oversee EH&S management system implementation, sustainment and reporting to relevant internal and external stakeholders as needed.
- Develop and deploy local Policies, Standard Operating Procedures and Guidance as related to Environmental, Health & Safety Operations and Crisis/ Emergency Management.
- Implement effective emergency management solutions in relation to Medical, Fire and Disaster situations.
- Interpret and provide guidance to Wing managers for compliance on internal policies, local legislation and regulations.
- Proactively communicate with clarity and care so Wing employees understand various EH&S policies and know how to get the support they may need.
- Be able to adjust communications across different employee populations (across geographies, full-time Winglets vs contractors, etc)
- Travel as necessary to Wing US sites (50%) and international sites (<10%)
What You’ll Need:
- 12+ years of experience in the field of Environmental Health and Safety
- Deep understanding of US EH&S requirements are a must, experience overseeing global locations is a plus
- Experience with US regulations for facilities and employees
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Safety Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Experience managing multi-office campuses / workforce with a focus on compliance, permitting, employee safety, and incident management
- Experience working in a cross functional, hybrid environment in close partnership with facility management, security, legal compliance and field operations teams
- Experience with providing a full range of occupational health & safety solutions
The US base salary range for this full-time position is the salary range below + bonus + equity + benefits. Wing’s salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your location during the hiring process.
Salary Range
$174,000 - $230,000 USD
