Wing is looking for a Backend Software Engineer, Observability to join our Tech Services team. This role will be based in Palo Alto, CA or Remote in the United States. The position seeks for highly-motivated individuals who enjoy working in a highly collaborative team environment. The successful candidate is able to build the technical foundation for Wing drone delivery system data aggregation and synthesis, alongside the design and implementation of clear and effective data visualizations for various stakeholders. We’re looking for people who are intrinsically driven to solve hard problems with stunningly simple solutions, move fast, and are highly adaptive.
What You’ll Do:
- Develop and deploy robust technical solutions for the efficient synthesis and aggregation of Wing’s drone delivery system data from various sources.
- Develop and deploy efficient API interfaces to supply data for diverse operational data visualization platforms.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including frontend engineers, backend engineers, system engineers and product managers to enable observability into site launch and daily operations.
- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code, adhering to industry best practices and internal coding standards.
- Continuously evaluate and optimize the platform's architecture to meet evolving business needs and ensure high levels of scalability and security.
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
What You’ll Need:
- 3+ years of experience in backend software development using C++ and other relevant programming languages.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Experience working with frontend software systems, including debugging web applications.
- Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming principles.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Self-motivated and proactive, with a passion for innovation and a desire to contribute to the development of cutting-edge drone delivery solutions.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is the salary range below + bonus + equity + benefits. Wing’s salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your location during the hiring process.
Salary Range
$136,000 - $249,000 USD
