About the Role:
Wing is looking for a Head of Forward Logistics to join our Supply Chain team. This role will be based in Palo Alto, California. The Forward Logistics Lead is a critical role responsible for overseeing the efficient and cost-effective flow of goods from the point of origin to our customers and distribution network, encompassing both domestic and international operations. This role requires a deep understanding of transportation management, warehousing strategies, international trade regulations, and compliance requirements. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with strong execution skills, capable of optimizing our forward logistics network, ensuring regulatory adherence, and driving continuous improvement.
What You’ll Do:
Develop and implement strategic forward logistics plans, including network design and optimization of the hub and spoke warehouse model.Oversee domestic and international transportation management, including carrier selection, rate negotiation, and route optimization.Manage and coordinate hub and spoke warehouse operations to ensure efficient receiving, storage, and distribution.Ensure full compliance with international trade regulations, customs clearance procedures, and documentation requirements.Collaborate with inventory teams to manage stock levels and optimize inventory flow across the entire logistics network.Oversee the end-to-end order fulfillment process, ensuring timely and accurate delivery for both domestic and international shipments.Build and maintain strong relationships with all logistics vendors, including transportation providers, warehousing partners, and customs brokers.Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), analyze data, and drive continuous improvement initiatives across all forward logistics operations.
What You’ll Need:
- 15+ years of progressive experience in forward logistics, with significant experience in international logistics, trade compliance, and warehouse management.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, International Business, or equivalent experience.
- Deep understanding of domestic and international transportation modes, warehousing operations, inventory management, and order fulfillment processes.
- Expertise in understanding customs regulations, trade compliance, tariffs, trade agreements, and export controls.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex logistics data.
- Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills, both domestically and internationally.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with experience in cross-cultural communication.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in logistics software and systems, including Transportation Management Systems (TMS), Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, and trade compliance software.
- Leadership experience with the ability to motivate and develop a team
The US base salary range for this full-time position is the salary range below + bonus + equity + benefits. Wing’s salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your location during the hiring process.
Salary Range
$258,000 - $301,000 USD
