About the Role:
Wing is looking for a Hardware Test Engineer to join our Hardware Engineering Team based in Palo Alto, CA. The ideal candidate has a passion for elegant hardware, demonstrated knowledge of industry best practices, and the ability to deliver results as part of a dynamic, cross-functional team.
What You’ll Do:
- Develop and execute hardware test plans of new and existing aircraft mixed signal PCBAs and sub-assemblies, particularly those involving RF technologies (e.g., cellular, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, ADS-B)
- Design and build test setups for various types of hardware testing, included but not limited to radiated chamber tests, antenna performance, regression testing of motor controllers and other hardware validation
- Perform hands-on testing, troubleshooting, and failure analysis of circuits, antennas, and integrated systems during the design phase
- Analyze test data, identify issues, and collaborate with EE, ME and systems engineers to implement solutions for improving hardware performance and reliability
- Work closely with cross-functional teams including electrical, mechanical, software, and manufacturing engineers throughout the product development lifecycle
What You’ll Need:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering/Embedded/Computer Hardware Engineering or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of design experience in a hardware test engineering role with a focus on RF systems
- Experience using common test equipment (spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, oscilloscopes, protocol and signaling testers) and/or antenna chambers. The ability to use the test equipment in a hands-on lab environment.
- Experience with Python, LabView, and data collection, analysis, and test automation tools
- Applied experience with interface technologies: CAN, USB, I2C, RS232, Ethernet and aircraft system technologies: GPS, IMUs, Air Data Systems, Servos/Motors, Cameras and RF Communications
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements (FCC, IC, CE, etc.), carrier specifications, and cellular, and their respective certification process
The US base salary range for this full-time position is the salary range below + bonus + equity + benefits. Wing’s salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your location during the hiring process.
Salary Range
$168,000 - $179,000 USD
