Outpatient Urology Nurse

Overview

Xyla is supporting The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust in delivering a Urology One Stop in Epping. The service is designed to reduce referral-to-diagnosis times for patients awaiting urology investigations and treatment. 

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare procedure rooms and specialist equipment for flexible cystoscopy clinics.
• Maintain high standards of infection prevention and control.
• Assist the Consultant Urologist during procedures, providing clinical support as required.
• Prepare and support patients before, during and after procedures.
• Administer and monitor care in accordance with clinical protocols and local policies.
• Deliver clear discharge information and post-procedure advice to patients.
• Maintain accurate patient records using Trust systems.
• Work collaboratively with the wider clinical team to ensure an efficient patient pathway.
  
  Requirements

• Current NMC registration.
• Previous urology nursing experience.
• Outpatient clinic experience.
• Strong communication and patient care skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Commitment to high standards of patient safety and clinical care. 

Service Information

The service manages patients requiring rapid urology assessment and investigation, with clinics supporting up to 24 patients per day. Successful candidates will play a key role in delivering a safe, efficient and patient-focused service.
