About the Role

We are looking for experienced Endoscopy Nurses to support an Endoscopy service on the Isle of Wight.

You will be responsible for supporting patients throughout their endoscopy pathway, including pre-procedure assessment and preparation, assisting during procedures, patient monitoring, recovery and providing appropriate aftercare.

Essential Experience

You must have a minimum of 1 year of experience working specifically as an Endoscopy Nurse within the last year in a UK healthcare setting.

This is a mandatory requirement. Candidates without recent Endoscopy Nursing experience will not be considered.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-procedure assessments and confirm consent
• Prepare patients, including observations, cannulation and reassurance
• Administer sedation and monitor patients during procedures
• Assist the endoscopist during procedures
• Manage equipment during procedures
• Support the clinician with biopsies and ensure samples are correctly labelled
• Monitor patients' vital signs throughout procedures
• Provide immediate post-procedure care and recovery monitoring
• Deliver initial aftercare advice to patients
• Accurately document procedure details and outcomes

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of Endoscopy Nursing experience within the last year
• Confident supporting and assisting with endoscopy procedures
• Experience with patient assessment, preparation and recovery
• Experience administering sedation and monitoring patients during procedures
• Confident with cannulation and patient observations
• Good understanding of infection prevention and patient safety procedures
• Strong communication and patient care skills
• Comfortable working as part of a busy Endoscopy service
• Available to work Saturdays and Sundays
• Able to travel to the Isle of Wight, with likely travel on Friday evenings
