Medical Assistant
Zarminali Pediatrics is building the nation's leading pediatric multispecialty group, focused on supporting families to shape healthy futures for their children – from birth through adulthood – by completely transforming the way pediatric care is delivered nationwide. We are tackling today's challenges of increased administrative burden on clinicians and a siloed approach to pediatric care through intentional design of care delivery, enhanced by leading technology and collaborative, expert care teams.
Our name, inspired by our founder's daughter's name – Zarmina – means “something that is more precious to you than gold”. We couldn’t think of anything that better represents the way parents and caregivers hold the relationship with their children as the most valuable gift, and how we at Zarminali approach care for each child with equal reverence.
We strive for a healthier future for pediatric patients and a happier future for pediatric clinicians nationwide, and we are looking for people to join us in achieving this vision. If you are eager to join a growth stage company and be part of the early team that is shaping the foundation of both the company and the delivery of pediatric care, then this opportunity might be for you!
POSITION OVERVIEW
As a Medical Assistant (MA) in Park Ridge, IL, you will play a vital dual role in delivering both exceptional clinical support and seamless patient experience. This position blends traditional Medical Assistant responsibilities with front-end patient coordination functions to ensure smooth clinic operations — especially during launch and early growth phases.
You will be a trusted partner to providers, patients, and families — supporting care from check-in through discharge. - Administer vaccines safely and accurately while monitoring for adverse reactions.
- Assist physicians and advanced care practitioners with patient care.
- Prepare exam rooms and ensure infection control standards are maintained.
- Support medication refills, prior authorizations, referrals, and patient recall efforts.
- Ensure patient charts are accurate and up to date in the EMR.
Patient Experience & Care Coordination
- Welcome patients and guide them through check-in and registration processes.
- Collect and verify demographic and insurance information in the EMR.
- Schedule appointments, follow-ups, consults, and referrals.
- Answer and manage incoming calls with empathy and professionalism.
- Support outreach related to quality measures and follow-up care.
- Maintain strong communication with clinical and administrative teams to ensure continuity of care.
- Assist with opening/closing clinic procedures and general organization.
Team Collaboration & Launch Support
- Rotate between clinical and coordination duties based on daily clinic needs.
- Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to support cross-coverage.
- Contribute to workflow optimization and continuous improvement efforts.
- Serve as a positive representative of the clinic’s mission, vision, and values.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA).
- BLS certification
- 1+ year of experience in a medical assistant or patient-facing healthcare role.
- Comfort navigating electronic medical records and scheduling systems.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and remain organized in a fast-paced environment.
- A collaborative mindset and willingness to be cross-trained.
- Commitment to delivering compassionate, inclusive, and family-centered care.
WHAT WE OFFER:
- A collaborative, team-based environment focused on high-quality pediatric care.
- Cross-training and skill development that expands your professional growth.
