Finance Lead
Emergent builds autonomous coding agents that replace traditional software development by generating, testing, and deploying production applications directly from plain-language intent. Our systems run in production at global scale and are used to build millions of real applications.
Since public launch, Emergent has reached $100M ARR in 8 months. 6M+ users across 190+ countries have built 6.5M+ applications on Emergent. We've raised $100M+, backed by Khosla Ventures, SoftBank, Google, Lightspeed, Prosus, Together, and Y Combinator.
We're solving the hard part of AI-driven software creation: correctness, reliability, security, and scale in real production systems. The team is built by repeat founders, Olympiad medalists, IIT & IIM alumni, and leaders from Google, Amazon, and Dropbox.
We're hiring builders who want ownership, speed, and impact at global scale.

- Own the full financial close process, including month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close across India and US entities
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of the general ledger, balance sheet reconciliations, and intercompany transactions
- Establish and enforce robust internal controls, audit readiness, and compliance across India and US regulatory frameworks (Ind AS, US GAAP, GST, and international tax)
- Develop and implement transfer pricing policies, intercompany accounting, and multi-entity consolidation structures
- Lead relationships with auditors, tax advisors, banking partners, and external counsel
- Build and manage revenue recognition and billing infrastructure in partnership with product and engineering teams
- Drive compliance across payroll, statutory filings, and other regulatory obligations in both geographies
- Partner with founders and leadership on financial planning, including annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, and monthly business reviews
- Own and evolve the financial operating model, including P&L, cash flow forecasting, and unit economics across business verticals
- Provide financial insight and analysis to support decisions on product pricing, new market entry, and enterprise contracts
- Support fundraising for future rounds, including data room preparation, investor reporting, and financial due diligence
- Partner with People and Ops teams on compensation benchmarking, headcount planning, and entity-level cost management
- Build and mentor a high-performing finance team as the company scales
What We're Looking For:
- CA with 10 to 15 years of progressive finance experience, with a strong foundation in controllership and at least 3 to 4 years in a leadership role at a high-growth startup, venture-backed company, or Big 4 audit firm
- Hands-on expertise in financial close, internal controls, audit management, revenue recognition, and multi-entity consolidation
- Strong command of SaaS or subscription revenue models, ARR metrics, unit economics, and FP&A in a high-growth environment
- Hands-on experience managing India and US entities, including Ind AS, US GAAP, GST, and international tax compliance
- Demonstrated experience supporting Series B or later fundraising rounds, including financial modelling, investor relations, and cap table management

- Unlimited Paid Time Off: Take the time you need to recharge and come back refreshed
- Flexible Working Hours: Work arrangements that fit your life and commitments
