Job Overview
The Provider Claims Intake Specialist supports the billing and claims department of Lantern by overseeing the data entry process to maintain accurate and up-to-date records and contracts. This role plays a crucial part in collecting and processing claims data, collaborating with healthcare providers, and ensuring prompt and precise payment processing. The ideal candidate will establish trust and rapport with Lantern's provider administrative counterparts through proactive communication, exceptional customer service, problem-solving abilities, and a consultative approach. Successful Provider Claims Intake Specialist are characterized by their organization, interpersonal skills, resourcefulness, and ability to work independently.
THIS POSITION IS 100% ONSITE. We are located in Dallas, TX.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Perform accurate and timely data entry of medical billing information into Lantern systems.
- Review and comprehend medical bills to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Utilize basic Excel, Word, Outlook, and SharePoint skills to manage and organize claim-related documents and communications.
- Demonstrate critical thinking skills to analyze claims data and identify issues that require attention.
- Maintain organization of electronic and physical claim files to facilitate easy retrieval and auditing.
- Collaborate effectively within a team environment while also excelling as an independent contributor.
- Uphold motivation to complete tasks with minimal supervision, ensuring all responsibilities are fulfilled promptly and accurately.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in data entry and administration, preferably in a healthcare or insurance environment.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook) and SharePoint.
- Strong critical thinking skills to assess and resolve complex issues related to medical claims.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail to maintain accurate records and files.
- Ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with healthcare providers and internal teams.
- Self-motivated and able to work autonomously to achieve departmental goals and deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a customer service-oriented mindset.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in healthcare administration or related field is a plus.
