Lantern is a specialty care navigation company connecting more than 10 million members with the highest-quality surgery, oncology, and infusion therapy providers. Our curated Network of Excellence delivers 55%+ cost savings versus average health plan rates while maintaining a surgical complication rate below 1%. We were ranked #3 on Fast Company’s Most Innovative Companies 2026 in healthcare.

We are transforming from a technology-enabled health services company into a Health AI company, where technology and AI sit at the forefront of everything we build. Engineering is a strategy maker, not an order taker. If you want your code to change how specialty care is delivered at scale, this is the team.

As a Software Engineer on the full stack, you will own features end-to-end, from the React interfaces our members and provider partners use to the Python or .NET services and data models behind them. You will ship AI-first experiences on Azure, backed by our data platform, and set the technical bar for the engineers around you.

This is a hands-on IC role. You will lead workstreams, drive code and design reviews, and make pragmatic architecture decisions. We deliver incrementally: every initiative articulates a first deliverable within four weeks. We ship fast through automation and testing, never by cutting corners, because quality and reliability are non-negotiable in healthcare.

Location: Hybrid - at least 3 days/wk in our Dallas, TX or Vancouver, BC Canada offices

What You Will Own

  • Design, build, and operate full-stack features end-to-end across React front ends and Python or .NET back-end services.
  • Model and query relational data in PostgreSQL or SQL Server, with a focus on correctness, performance, and data quality.
  • Build and run services on Azure, provisioned and managed as code with Terraform.

  • Break large problems into incremental deliverables, shipping a first useful increment within four weeks.
  • Partner directly with product, design, and clinical stakeholders as an equal owner of product decisions.
  • Uphold security and HIPAA/PHI obligations by design, building safe-by-default systems rather than treating security as a gate.

What You Bring

  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience building and operating production web applications.
  • Strong front-end skills with React and modern JavaScript/TypeScript.
  • Strong back-end skills in Python or .NET (C#), including designing and consuming REST and event-driven APIs.

  • Experience with data platforms such as Databricks, and with data pipelines feeding analytics or ML.
