Superior Fence & Rail is an industry leader with multiple branch locations. We partner with a national home improvement chain, multiple home builders and general contractors for fence installation requirements.

Superior Fence & Rail is an industry leader seeking full-time Estimator for immediate hire. Work consists of estimating and management of commercial projects (Tennis Courts, High Security Fences, Sport Field Backstops, etc.). Full benefits including health insurance and 401k are offered. Pay starts at $50,000 + 10% of the gross profit as commission. **Please note that all offers of employment are contingent upon successfully passing drug testing and background check.

Minimum requirements:

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of estimating experience in commercial and public works construction - preferably in the fencing and/or guardrail industry (or equivalent combination of technical training and related experience)
  • Able to read, understand, and interpret blueprints and perform detailed and accurate take-offs
  • Able to read, understand and interpret technical specifications and special provisions
  • Able to problem solve independently (and be proactive in problem solving)
  • Able to maintain confidentiality of all company proprietary information
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Very strong organizational skills
  • Able to prioritize workloads efficiently and work independently
  • Able to work well and maintain composure under pressure
  • Experience using Google’s G Suites

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Review, understand and interpret blueprints, technical specifications and special provisions and prepare detailed take-off of all fence scopes of work
  • Prepare break-down of materials and request pricing from various suppliers
  • Prepare detailed, accurate estimates including subcontractor/self-perform analysis
  • Source new suppliers/vendors for non-typical items of work
  • Identification and preparation of Requests for Information
  • Monitor bids from start to finish and work with the project estimating team throughout the entire bidding process
  • Perform project site visits and assist with project coordination
  • Assisting with resolution of various projects issues or warranty items
  • Attendance at job walks, site meetings, or other meetings
  • Prepare material submittals and shop drawings (gather product data and information for submission on awarded projects)
  • Must have a great work ethic and clear understanding on how to be a team player

The Superior candidate will:

  • Be organized and detail-oriented with a stable job history
  • Have 2 - 3 years of Commercial Estimating experience
  • Have 2 - 3 years of Management of Commercial Projects experience
