Job Summary:

The Shop Technician will assist with the installation of equipment & parts on trailer rigs, small equipment maintenance and repair, as well as general building maintenance and grounds keeping at the facility site.

Company Summary:

We are the headquarters of two franchises: Wallaby Windows and Koala Insulation. We started Koala Insulation in January 2020 and have grown to over 125+ locations since then- it's been extreme and wonderful growth. Wallaby Windows is our newest brand and officially launched for franchising as of January 2023. We anticipate the growth of Wallaby Windows to be even more explosive than Koala Insulation, which means we need more great people on our team. In terms of our long-term goals, we would like to build five total home services brands over the course of the next 2-5 years. This means there will be plenty of growth opportunity along the way!

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the installation of equipment / parts on trailer rigs.
  • Prep trailer: wiring, grommets, lights, and decals
  • Small equipment maintenance & repair.
  • Ensuring the shop workspace is kept very clean, organized and in order.
  • General building maintenance & repair.
  • General grounds-keeping of the facility site.
  • Washing & detailing company vehicles & trailer rigs.
  • Receiving & inspection of new trailers / vehicle from the manufacturer.
  • Uses hand and power tools safely.
  • Receives and organizes components and parts.
  • Assists in inventory and stocking, including keeping detailed records of inventory used/sold and advising the department lead, when it’s time to re-order.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in compliance with workplace safety rules and regulations.
  • Other general shop duties will be required from time-to-time.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • 2+ years of recent experience troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining small equipment.
  • 2+ years of experience in general building maintenance and minor repair.
  • Must have an active FL driver’s license, and good driving record.
  • Must be able to read a tape measure, follow a job order, and use basic hand tools (panel saw, skill saw, screw gun, drill, and other hand tools).
  • Good math skills are necessary.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Highly organized with keen attention to detail and ability to manage multiple, changing priorities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, demonstrating the ability to work independently as well as with others in a collaborative manner.
  • Prefer direct experience working as part of a team.

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee could regularly be required to stand, push, pull, lift, bend, stoop, crawl, talk & hear. The employee must be able to lift, up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and depth perception.
