Position Summary:

The Manager, Trade Shows and Events drives measurable business impact, including pipeline generation, revenue influence, and provider acquisition by designing and executing high-performance event strategies that accelerate brand visibility, lead generation, and provider engagement. This role owns end-to-end planning, cross-functional alignment, and performance optimization of a comprehensive portfolio of events, including sponsored industry conferences, Empower-hosted experiences (such as customer and Key Opinion Leader roundtables), webinars, internal events, and hospitality programs. Leveraging data, analytics, and automation as a force multiplier, the manager enhances speed, scale, quality, and decision-making through predictive analytics, automation, and real-time insights. Operating within Empower’s hyper-growth, highly regulated 503A/503B environment, this leader ensures compliance while advancing innovation and market differentiation. The role requires a highly strategic and execution-oriented leader with a proven track record of driving measurable business impact through events in complex, high-growth environments. 

Responsibilities:

Event Strategy 

  • Strategic Planning: Develop and execute enterprise event strategy across trade shows, sponsored conferences, hosted events, webinars, internal programs, and hospitality experiences aligned to growth objectives, leveraging  market insights, audience segmentation, and predictive modeling to maximize brand impact, lead generation, and competitive positioning across national and industry-specific platforms while ensuring alignment with evolving business priorities. 
  • Portfolio Optimization: Manage a prioritized portfolio of external and internal events using performance forecasting and data-driven insights, continuously refining investment allocation, event mix, and engagement models to optimize ROI, scale high-impact programs, and eliminate low-performing activities while aligning with marketing, sales, and executive leadership goals. 
  • Experience Design: Architect differentiated, high-impact event experiences using audience behavior insights, immersive storytelling, and digital engagement tactics to enhance attendee interaction, elevate brand perception, and drive measurable conversion outcomes across in-person, virtual, and hybrid formats. 

Execution Excellence 

  • Operational Delivery: Lead end-to-end execution of trade shows and events with disciplined project management, workflow automation, and real-time performance tracking to ensure flawless delivery, timeline adherence, cost efficiency, and consistent alignment with strategic objectives and brand standards. 
  • Vendor Management: Oversee vendor, partner, and sponsorship relationships using data-driven evaluation and AI-supported contract optimization to ensure cost-effectiveness, service quality, scalability, and seamless coordination across venues, production partners, digital platforms, and hospitality vendors. 
  • Onsite Leadership: Direct on-site event operations, leveraging AI-powered monitoring tools and real-time collaboration platforms to resolve issues, optimize engagement, and ensure consistent execution excellence while maintaining alignment with sales and marketing objectives. 

Performance Analytics 

  • Data Integration: Implement advanced analytics frameworks that integrate event, marketing, and sales data to deliver actionable insights, enabling precise measurement of engagement, pipeline impact, and conversion performance across all event initiatives. 
  • ROI Measurement: Establish rigorous performance measurement models using predictive analytics and automated reporting to evaluate event effectiveness, optimize future strategies, and ensure clear linkage between event investments and business outcomes. 
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous optimization through data-driven post-event analysis, identifying trends, insights, and improvement opportunities to refine strategies, enhance attendee experiences, and increase overall program effectiveness. 

Team Leadership 

  • Talent Development: Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing team, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous learning while integrating AI tools to enhance productivity, decision-making, and professional growth. 
  • Cross Functional: Partner with marketing, creative, business development, and executive teams to align event strategies with broader business goals, leveraging data and insights to improve collaboration, streamline execution, and maximize organizational impact. 
  • Culture Building: Promote a high-performance culture aligned with Empower’s values, emphasizing execution rigor, adaptability, and strategic thinking while enabling the team to thrive in a fast-paced, highly regulated, and innovation-driven environment. 

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Expertise in AI-driven event technologies, predictive analytics, and marketing automation tools to enhance engagement, optimize performance, and enable data-informed decision-making across complex event portfolios.
  • Strong strategic planning and execution capabilities with proficiency in project management methodologies, vendor negotiation, and cross-functional collaboration within high-growth, regulated environments.
  • Advanced analytical skills with ability to interpret complex data sets, generate insights, and translate findings into actionable strategies that improve ROI and business outcomes.
  • Exceptional communication and leadership skills with demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders, lead teams, and drive alignment across marketing, sales, and executive functions.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in trade show management, event marketing, or experiential marketing, preferably within the pharmaceutical, healthcare, or life sciences industry.
  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration, event management, or a related field; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Demonstrated experience managing a diverse mix of event formats, including industry conferences, hosted customer events, webinars, and executive or VIP experiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement large-scale event strategies that effectively drive brand awareness, lead generation, and audience engagement while ensuring alignment with overall marketing objectives.
  • Ability to leverage AI-driven event technology to enhance lead capture, audience interaction, and data-informed decision-making, utilizing tools such as predictive analytics, automated attendee tracking, and AI-powered marketing solutions to optimize event impact.
  • Preferred certifications include Certified Trade Show Marketer, Certified Meeting Professional, Digital Event Strategist, Certified Event Planning Specialist, and Project Management Professional.
