Mechanical Assembly Technician

Atlanta, GA

Endeavour has an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about sustainability and eager to be part of an innovative company that’s on a journey to transform the world’s infrastructure. We are seeking a Mechanical Assembly Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be the "hands" of our manufacturing process, responsible for the physical assembly and wiring of our breakthrough power conversion systems. You will work closely with senior technicians and engineers to build prototypes and first-run production units, ensuring every bolt, wire, and component is installed exactly to specification. This is a high-action role for someone who takes pride in manual craftsmanship and wants to contribute to the physical creation of next-generation energy hardware.

The Mechanical Assembly Technician  needs to be agile, professional, and comfortable in a rapidly changing environment. The right person is trustworthy with confidential information, highly organized, self-motivated, has excellent communication skills, can think strategically, and works equally as well independently as with a team.

Endeavour is highly selective about the people we bring on board because our ecosystem depends on it. Change happens quickly here, and we must maintain a strong team of honest, communicative, collaborative, open-minded, strategic, reliable, and driven team members. We seek ultra-creatives and superstar performers with self-awareness, a sense of humility, and a hunger to make a positive impact in the world. Endeavour offers flexibility and endless growth opportunities to those who can harness their skills and talents and identify how and where to use them to add value. Our support team is the heart of the ecosystem. We’re a diverse group of bright, passionate, dedicated people, working together to make a real difference. Are you ready to join the journey?

Key Responsibilities

Include but are not limited to:

  • Mechanical Assembly: Perform the physical assembly of power electronics units, including mounting heavy components, installing busbars, and securing enclosures using hand and power tools.
  • Wiring & Integration: Execute point-to-point wiring, cable routing, and terminal crimping for both low-voltage control signals and high-power electrical circuits.
  • Production Legwork: Support the setup and organization of the NPI line by prepping materials, kitting components for specific builds, and maintaining a clean, efficient workspace.
  • Process Execution: Strictly follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and assembly drawings to ensure consistency and quality across all builds.
  • Supply Chain Control: Order, track, and manage inventory of components & equipment to ensure correct volumes & versions of all parts are ready when needed.
  • Quality Documentation: Complete build logs and quality checklists to document that every assembly step was performed correctly.
  • Tooling Support: Use and maintain shop equipment such as drill presses, saws, and basic hand tools to modify parts or create simple assembly aids as directed.
  • Testing Support: Assist engineers during functional testing by connecting units to power supplies and monitoring basic mechanical & electrical integrity.

Skills & Requirements

Education / Experience

  • Experience: 1–3 years of experience in a mechanical assembly, manufacturing, or automotive environment. We also welcome highly motivated graduates from vocational or technical programs.
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; a technical certificate or Associate’s degree in a related field is a plus.
  • Manual Dexterity: High level of skill with hand tools (torque wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers) and power tools. Ability to handle delicate electronics alongside heavy structural components.
  • Technical Reading: Basic ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, and written work instructions.
  • Soldering & Crimping: Practical experience with soldering and wire termination/crimping is highly preferred.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and navigate a workshop environment safely.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to work—the "zero-to-one" stage requires catching small errors before they become major production issues.

Specific Skills / Abilities

  • Familiarity with T-slot (80/20) framing and basic workshop fabrication.
  • Familiarity with product assembly documentation, manufacturing systems, and quality control.
  • Previous experience in an NPI or R&D environment.
  • Basic understanding of electrical safety and PPE for high-voltage environments.
