About the Role
The Events & Community Intern will support Energize’s efforts to deepen relationships across our ecosystem -- portfolio companies, corporate customers, co-investors, LPs, and broader partners -- through high-quality programming, events, and community operations. You’ll work closely with the Community & Events Manager to help deliver experiences that connect people and drive measurable outcomes for the firm’s key stakeholder.
Responsibilities
- Events & Experience Execution
- Provide end-to-end support for Energize events (annual conference, investor meetings, thematic summits, and conference-adjacent activations): pre-event registration, run-of-show development, vendor coordination, speaker prep, and day-of operations.
- Draft event marketing assets including: event invites, program landing page design and copy, speaker outreach materials, pre and post event attendee outreach.
- Develop and update collateral materials for events including but not limited to one-sheets, brochures and signage.
- Collaborate with the communications and marketing team for all digital event assets.
- Help with logistical preparation in the lead-up to events, both in-person and virtual.
- Community Programs & Network Support
- Help plan and execute peer roundtables and thematic cohorts (e.g., GTM, talent, marketing/comms, finance) by coordinating and drafting invites, agendas, and follow-ups.
- Support the creation and maintenance of community resources (directories, member lists, and resource library materials).
- Support strategic connector work by assisting with intro logistics (background research, tracking, follow-ups).
- Corporate Ecosystem & Partnerships Enablement
- Support mapping and outreach prep for Energize’s corporate network (light research on target companies, roles, and priorities; list building).
- Assist in the development of Energize’s corporate network materials (one pagers, resource library)
- Measurement, Insights, and Operations
- Track engagement metrics and outcomes (attendance, participation, introductions made, follow-on conversations, qualitative feedback).
- Build lightweight dashboards or frequent summaries to help the team understand what’s working and where to iterate.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, public relations, hospitality or a related field with an interest in events and community management.
- Excellent organization, time management, and attention to detail.
- Strong written communication and interpersonal skills
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and reliable with deadlines and logistics.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Canva essential; Experience with Airtable and Notion a plus.
- Passion for climate tech and sustainability, with a strong interest in venture capital and startup ecosystems.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Internship structure
- Internship will be paid hourly
- This position is a summer internship, with the possibility of extending into a part-time role after the quarter ends, contingent on mutual interest and availability.
- Expected time commitment is approximately 20 hours per week, scheduled on consistent days and times.
- Internship will be in person at Energize’s office in The Loop.
