About the Position

As the ESG Manager, this role in responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the organisation’s ESG strategy. This role ensures that the company aligns with sustainability best practices, regulatory requirements, and stakeholder expectations. The ESG Manager will work to integrate ESG principles into business operations, drive stakeholder assessments and reporting, and collaborate across the business to meet all relevant deadlines. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Develop ESG Strategy: Create and implement a comprehensive ESG strategy aligned with the company's business goals and sustainability objectives. 
  • Policy Development: Draft and update ESG policies and guidelines to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards. 
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Work collaboratively and cross-functionally to engage with internal stakeholders (Board, executives, employees) and external stakeholders (investors, regulators, NGOs) to communicate ESG initiatives and progress. 
  • Risk Management: Identify, analyse and assess ESG risks across the company's operations and supply chain, and develop mitigation strategies. 
  • Reporting and Disclosure: Oversee the preparation and publication of all ESG reports (including Quarterly Board Reporting) and disclosures, ensuring transparency and accuracy of ESG-related information.   
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to ESG goals and track progress over time. 
  • Compliance and Audit: Ensure adherence to ESG regulations, standards, and best practices through regular audits and assessments. 
  • Integration into Investment Decisions: Collaborate with investment teams to integrate ESG considerations into due diligence processes and investment decision-making. 
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to ESG performance, based on industry trends, stakeholder feedback, and emerging best practices. 

 

 Candidate Requirements & Qualifications  

  • Expertise in ESG Practices: In-depth knowledge of environmental, social, and governance issues, including current trends, regulations, and best practices in sustainable business practices. 
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop and execute a strategic ESG plan that aligns with the company's business objectives and enhances its reputation as a responsible corporate citizen. 
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical abilities to assess ESG risks and opportunities, analyse data, and measure the impact of ESG initiatives using relevant metrics and KPIs. 
  • Impact Measurement and Reporting: Experience in impact measurement methodologies and frameworks to assess and communicate the social and environmental impacts of ESG initiatives. 
  • ESG Measurement Tools: Experience with ESG measurement tools for data collection, analysis and reporting (i.e. Greenhouse).   
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders, including senior executives, investors, regulators, and external partners. 
  • Project Management: Experience in managing complex projects, from planning to execution, with a focus on integrating ESG considerations into business operations and investment decisions. 
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, influencing and persuading others towards ESG goals and commitments. 
  • Regulatory Compliance: Understanding of ESG regulations and reporting requirements relevant to the industry and regions where the company operates, ensuring compliance and transparency. 
  • Education and Certification: 6+ years of relevant experience. A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as environmental science, sustainability, business administration, or finance. Professional certifications related to ESG.
