About the Position

At Energy Exemplar, we are a rapidly growing software company leading the way in energy modeling and simulation solutions. As we expand our reach, we're looking for a passionate and driven Business Development Manager (BDM) to join our dynamic team. In this exciting and evolving role, you’ll be at the forefront of our sales efforts, engaging with potential customers and building valuable relationships that fuel our growth.

As a BDM, you'll play a critical role in driving new business opportunities and contributing to the success of our sales strategy. This position offers the chance to grow within an innovative and supportive environment, where your efforts directly impact the future of the company.

The following outlines the core responsibilities for the BD role. As Energy Exemplar continues to grow, so will your role—providing new and exciting challenges along the way. We are looking for a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, changing environment and is eager to be part of a company with a strong vision for the future.

Responsibilities

  • Generate, qualify, and nurture leads to build a robust pipeline of qualified prospects of corporate clients
  • Conduct market research to identify new leads and target corporate markets
  • Develop and execute lead generation strategies and campaigns.
  • Engage with businesses of all sizes, from mid-market to large enterprises.
  • Manage inbound leads, initiate contact, and qualify prospects using methodologies like BANT, SPIN, and MEDDIC.
  • Map stakeholders and maintain key relationships within corporate accounts.
  • Deliver online presentations and represent the company at corporate-focused industry events and conferences.
  • Conduct outbound cold outreach through calls, emails, and social media.
  • Collaborate with the sales team and cross-functional teams to meet business goals.
  • Follow up with corporate prospects who expressed interest but did not convert.


Candidate Requirements & Qualifications

 

  • Degree educated (preferred)
  • Strong background in sales closing roles, particularly in software sales (preferred)
  • Proficient in CRM tools like HubSpot, ZoomInfo, and Salesforce
  • Knowledge of PLEXOS would be advantageous
  • Experience managing target accounts and contact lists for outreach (preferred)
  • Familiarity with LinkedIn Sales Navigator
  • Ability to create compelling sales content for outreach
  • Strong Excel skills for reporting and data analysis
  • Previous experience in the energy industry or software sales (preferred)
  • Experience creating dashboards and reports to track performance
  • Proficiency in French, Arabic, or any other European language (plus)
