About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Energy Market Advisor to join our EMEA Solutions team. This role is ideally suited to someone with deep knowledge of European energy markets who combines strong technical credibility with a highly commercial outlook. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in translating market developments into customer opportunities, compelling go-to-market strategies and relevant market-facing propositions.

This role is central to our strategy of positioning Energy Exemplar as a trusted strategic advisor to energy-market participants. From day one, the successful candidate will be expected to track priority markets, understand the short- and long-term drivers of market prices and investment, and identify the events and structural changes most likely to accelerate demand for advanced energy-market modelling and decision support.

You will be expected to bring senior-level credibility when engaging with customers. You will work closely with utilities, developers, system and market operators, investors, traders, governments and regulators, helping them understand how market change affects their organisations and how PLEXOS can support the decisions they need to make. This requires the ability to move confidently between detailed market discussions, executive-level business issues and commercially focused conversations.

The role will work closely with sales and marketing teams to shape market-specific go-to-market strategies. You will turn market intelligence into clear messaging, campaign themes and customer conversation starters, ensuring that our commercial activity reflects what is happening in each market and why customers should act now. You will also support early-stage sales engagement by helping teams define the customer problem, articulate the value of PLEXOS and establish a credible path towards adoption.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Monitor priority EMEA energy markets and maintain a clear view of the factors affecting short-term prices, market operations and longer-term investment decisions.
  • Identify market accelerators—including regulatory decisions, policy changes, price movements, system constraints, investment cycles and changes in market design—that create timely customer needs and commercial opportunities.
  • Translate complex market developments into clear implications for specific customer segments, explaining what has changed, why it matters and which business or planning decisions are affected.
  • Work with regional sales and marketing teams to develop market-specific go-to-market strategies, campaign themes and messaging grounded in current customer priorities.
  • Help generate top-of-funnel activity through targeted campaigns, executive roundtables, webinars, events, thought leadership and account-based engagement.
  • Support early-stage customer conversations as a strategic market advisor, bringing credibility and insight before opportunities progress into detailed product or technical discussions.
  • Clearly articulate how PLEXOS can address a customer’s specific market, planning or investment challenge, avoiding generic or feature-led positioning.
  • Help sales teams develop strong opportunity foundations, including a clear problem statement, stakeholder map, value hypothesis, relevant use cases and agreed next steps.
  • Develop outcome-led business cases for adopting or expanding PLEXOS, linking improved modelling capability to better decision-making, organisational efficiency, risk management and commercial value.
  • Advise customers on how to establish or mature an internal energy-modelling practice, including its priority use cases, operating model, skills, data requirements, governance and phased development.
  • Create reusable frameworks, workshop approaches and executive materials that help customers align investment in modelling capability with strategic business outcomes.
  • Represent Energy Exemplar at industry events, customer forums and executive briefings, speaking authoritatively about market developments and their implications.
  • Host webinars and roundtables and contribute articles, blogs, market commentary and other thought leadership across relevant EMEA channels.
  • Build trusted relationships with customers, prospects and market stakeholders while bringing external insight back into Energy Exemplar’s product positioning, content priorities and regional strategy.

This is a highly customer-facing role requiring a combination of energy-market expertise, commercial judgement and executive communication skills. You must be able to form and defend a well-reasoned point of view, make complex subjects accessible and connect market insight to practical customer action.

The successful candidate will have substantial experience in energy markets and a strong understanding of wholesale market fundamentals, price formation, market design and the drivers of long-term investment. You should be comfortable discussing energy-market modelling and its application to commercial, policy, operational and system-planning decisions. Direct experience with PLEXOS is highly desirable, although the ability to develop fluency quickly is equally important.

You will also bring a strong record of engaging senior stakeholders, translating complex analysis into compelling recommendations and contributing to business development through market insight, relationships, propositions or thought leadership. Excellent written and spoken English is required, and additional EMEA language capability would be advantageous.

Energy Exemplar is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all team members. We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds, experiences, identities, and abilities. Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
