About EnergyHub

EnergyHub empowers utilities and their customers to create a clean, distributed energy future. Our customers are utilities managing a complex electrical grid, supporting the daily lives of millions of people. We help consumers turn their smart thermostats, EVs, batteries, and other products into virtual power plants that keep the grid stable and enable higher penetration of solar and wind power.

Role Overview
The Business Development team is a growth engine at EnergyHub. We are a small, entrepreneurial group focused on discovering and validating new market and product opportunities that extend beyond our core business.  As Director, Business Development, you will help drive EnergyHub’s expansion into new markets with strong revenue or strategic potential. This is a highly visible, pre‑revenue role where you’ll identify opportunities early, build momentum, and help turn promising ideas into real growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Market Intelligence & Relationships: Build relationships with prospective customers, partners, and industry leaders. Gather market insights, identify emerging trends and unmet needs, and translate external signals into clear internal opportunities.
  • Strategy & Opportunity Development: Partner with senior leadership and key internal teams to identify, shape, and prioritize new solution areas aligned with EnergyHub’s strengths.
  • Subject Matter Leadership: Develop early expertise in new, high‑potential markets and serve as an internal resource to help teams understand market dynamics, customer needs, and success factors.
  • Business Concept Validation: Act as a catalyst to move new ideas forward. Collaborate cross‑functionally with Product, Engineering, Product Marketing, Partner Solutions, and others to assess product‑market fit, commercial viability, and alignment with go‑to‑market strategies. When required, work independently of these teams to validate the business potential of new idea concepts while still incorporating the viewpoints of other internal EnergyHub teams.
  • Market Requirements Definition: Define functional and market requirements for new opportunities, working closely with Product and Product Marketing to advocate for what’s needed to win in new segments.
  • Pipeline & Early Customer Development: Build and manage a pipeline of new opportunities. Leverage your network to open doors to new prospects and help secure early pilot customers, partnering with Sales or leading efforts directly when specialized expertise is needed
  • Conceiving Pilot Projects: When required, coordinate with other EnergyHub teams to conceptualize and launch initial pilots of new business concepts.

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
