Construction Manager
Energy Project Solutions (EPS) is an energy consulting firm that helps partners deliver efficient, high-value projects through localized expertise and real-world insight. With more than 500 years of collective experience, our team leads complex energy developments from inception through construction, bringing deep knowledge across engineering, real estate, business development, and finance while leveraging strong relationships with developers, owners, financial institutions, and property owners nationwide.
We are looking for an experienced Construction Manager to lead field execution and oversight for utility-scale renewable energy projects. In this role, you will serve as EPS’s onsite leader, coordinating EPCM teams, contractors, and partners to ensure construction activities are executed in accordance with plans, quality standards, safety requirements, and environmental commitments. If you enjoy being in the field, driving accountability, and keeping complex projects on track, this role offers significant responsibility and impact.
What You’ll Do
- Lead day-to-day construction execution and coordination in the field, serving as EPS’s primary onsite representative with clients, EPC partners, contractors, and vendors.
- Oversee contractor performance, production tracking, and adherence to construction plans, schedules, safety requirements, environmental commitments, and quality standards.
- Drive field planning and execution through daily coordination, pre-activity meetings, POD meetings, and short-interval (3-week look-ahead) scheduling.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate risks related to contracts, technical specifications, construction sequencing, and onsite operations.
- Support quality assurance audits, inspections, testing, commissioning coordination, and punch list activities.
- Ensure safety programs, including LOTO, are properly implemented and followed across all onsite activities.
- Manage project documentation, reporting, and communication systems, ensuring accurate daily, weekly, and monthly reporting.
- Track progress, verify percent complete, monitor critical path activities, and support milestone achievement through Mechanical Completion, Substantial Completion, and Final Completion.
- Act as a delegate for the Project Manager when needed and support issue resolution, change management, and project closeout activities.
Who You Are
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline (preferred).
- Minimum of 8 years of experience managing construction on large, complex projects, ideally utility-scale renewable energy projects.
- Experience with solar PV, BESS, or wind projects strongly preferred.
- Proven ability to lead field teams, manage contractors, and drive accountability onsite.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills, including meeting notes, site conditions, and change management support.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (Project, Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint), Bluebeam, and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
- OSHA 30 certified or equivalent safety training.
- Willing and able to travel 100% to project sites across the United States.
- Self-driven leader who takes ownership, communicates clearly, and consistently exceeds expectations.
Nice to Have
- PMI or CMAA certification.
- Experience with utility-scale energy projects, EPCM contracts, or renewable energy development.
- Familiarity with permitting, regulatory compliance, and RETA (Renewable Energy Tax Abatements).
