Trade Operations Analyst – London, UK

Full Time | Permanent | Hybrid (4+ days on-site)

About the Role

Engelhart’s Trading Operations team play a critical role in monitoring and managing trade and cash flows across global markets. The team handles commodities & FX futures and options on multiple exchanges, as well as OTC financial trading.

The successful candidate will work closely with colleagues across multiple time zones and build strong, direct relationships with traders, execution, Middle Office, and Back Office teams, helping to ensure efficient and accurate trade operations worldwide. The post-holder will report to the Financial Operations Manager working in Dubai.

This role will own the following responsibilities:

  • Monitor and manage global commodities and FX futures and options trades, including exchange-traded and OTC instruments.
  • Reconcile trades, calculate settlements, and ensure accurate P&L reporting on a daily basis.
  • Maintain strong relationships with traders, execution teams, brokers, and middle/back-office stakeholders.
  • Operate and administer key trading and clearing platforms, including CME Direct, WebICE, Trayport, and TT.
  • Support complex trading strategies, indexes, OTC swap settlements, and margin calculations.
  • Act as a backup across operational functions to ensure smooth global trade operations.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve operational efficiency.

About You

This person will be a capable, mid-level trading operations professional with proven experience handling commodities and FX futures and options in a fast-paced, global environment. They will be confident managing complex trade flows, ensuring accurate settlements, and collaborating effectively with traders, execution teams, middle office, brokers, and other stakeholders.

The following experiences and skills are essential for application:

  • Strong operational expertise in commodities and FX futures and options, including trade processing, settlements, and reconciliations across multiple exchanges.
  • Solid understanding of exchange and clearing operations (ICE EU/US, NYMEX, CBOT, LME, CMX, Endex, Matif, SGX, NGX, ASX, Dalian, SHFE) and OTC swap settlements.
  • Proven ability to calculate and settle financial futures and options, understand complex trading strategies and indexes, and monitor intraday P&L and market movements.
  • Proficiency in trading and back-office platforms (CME Direct, WebICE, Trayport, TT) and application of SPAN margin models.
  • Proficient in Excel, with experience using macros, pivot tables, and advanced formulas for process automation and data analysis.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, confident interacting with traders, front office, and senior management, with the ability to challenge and push back when required.
  • Able to prioritise effectively, manage competing demands, and work under pressure in a fast-paced, global environment.
  • Collaborative, proactive, and adaptable, with strong ownership, attention to detail, and a track record of streamlining processes and improving operational efficiency.
