About the Role

Engine is transforming how 20,000+ companies manage business travel, and our organic search presence is critical to our next phase of growth. As a Growth Lead, Organic, you'll own our visibility across both traditional search engines and emerging LLM platforms (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews). This is a greenfield opportunity with significant cleanup and net-new program development across Engine's entire product portfolio, from our core travel booking platform to Groups, Spaces, and Partner Hub.

You'll operate in a highly competitive search landscape where hotel OTAs, corporate travel platforms, and legacy TMCs dominate the SERP. Your mandate is to build a scalable, automated content engine that establishes Engine as the definitive answer for business travel queries across both traditional and AI-powered search platforms.

Your Mission

You will lead Engine's organic search strategy with a focus on incremental rank gains, SERP ownership, and LLM optimization. You'll build the technical and content infrastructure needed to scale across multiple products while staying ahead of rapidly evolving search and AI platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Channel Growth: Drive measurable improvements in organic search traffic and LLM-generated referrals (AEO/GEO) that translate to new user acquisition and revenue.

Technical SEO Excellence: Ensure Engine.com and all product properties are optimized for both traditional crawlers and AI agents, enabling efficient access and action on behalf of users.

Content Automation: Build and manage scalable content programs using tools like AirOps to dominate long-tail search queries and establish topical authority in business travel.

LLM Optimization: Develop and execute experiments to improve Engine's presence in ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and other answer engines through citation-worthy content and agent-friendly architecture.

Cross-Product Strategy: Create cohesive organic strategies across Engine's core platform, Groups, Spaces, and Partner Hub that drive traffic to each product's unique value propositions.

Performance Reporting: Deliver data-driven insights on organic performance using Amplitude, Snowflake, Salesforce, and other analytics tools to inform strategy and demonstrate ROI.

Competitive Intelligence: Monitor and outmaneuver competitors in search through technical superiority, content depth, and emerging channel adoption.

Qualifications

Proven SEO Leadership: 6+ years creating and executing SEO strategies with demonstrated success in competitive markets. Recent full-time proven success on AEO/GEO required.

Content Automation Expertise: Track record of building scalable content programs using automation tools; experience with AirOps strongly preferred.

Technical Depth: Strong technical expertise in site architecture, structured data, crawl optimization, and making websites both SEO and LLM-friendly.

Data Fluency: Proven ability to translate data into insights and decisions using analytics tools. Comfortable with SQL and data warehouse platforms like Snowflake.

Platform Expertise: Deep understanding of traditional search (Google, Bing) and LLM platforms (ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude).

High Agency: Motivated self-starter who independently leads roadmap development and execution across cross-functional stakeholders including Product, Engineering, Web, Design, and Agencies.

Communication Excellence: Exceptional written and verbal skills; ability to influence senior leadership and technical teams alike.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • In-house, B2B SaaS SEO experience
  • Experience in travel, fintech, or marketplace businesses
  • Proficiency in NLP, vector search, and RAG
  • Experience with Webflow, WordPress CMS management

If you’ll require Engine to commence, i.e., “sponsor,” an immigration or work permit case in order to employ you, either now or at some point in the future, then you should answer yes. An example of an immigration or work permit case that may require sponsorship now or in the future would be an H-1B or other employment-based work permit sponsorship.
