Execution Trading and Operations Associate

About the Role

Engineers Gate (EG) is a leading systematic quantitative investment company which operates globally.  We are a team of researchers, engineers, and financial industry professionals using statistical models to generate superior investment returns.  EG’s investment teams are supported by the firm’s proprietary, state-of-the-art technology and data platform.   

 As part of the global Execution Trading and Operations team, the Associate will cover U.S. afternoons and U.S. nights (half of the Asia trading day) and work from Sunday through Thursday each week. Responsibilities include all aspects of front and middle office operations. The new member will support critical daily aspects of trading, monitoring, reconciliation, and reporting, and will also play an important role in helping the firm scale by onboarding new trading strategies. This role is best suited for a top tier, well-rounded individual who is looking to get their foot in the door in finance. The individual must be a team player who can learn and adapt quickly, work well under pressure, think on their feet, is highly organized and extremely detailed, is able to multi-task, and has consistent follow through.

Key Responsibilities

  • Live trading support and monitoring of Firm's activity for U.S. afternoons and nights. Daily coverage: 2:30pm through midnight-1am EDT/EST on Sundays through Thursdays. Sunday hours may shift even earlier to around 12pm EDT/EST  
  • Maintaining Firm's centralized positions, prices, and P&L 
  • Maintaining highly automated processes to maximize operating efficiency 
  • Corporate action and trade lifecycle processing 
  • Maintaining Firm's security master and data warehouse 
  • Resolving breaks and generating reconciliations 
  • Coordinating with fund administrator, prime brokers, counterparties, and vendors  
  • Launching new strategies, products and/or new markets 
  • Facilitating ad hoc requests from Senior Management, Risk, Compliance, Legal, and PM teams 

Required Skills, Qualifications and Experience

  • 0-3 years of finance experience
  • University degree or directly transferrable and applicable professional experience
  • Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively
  • Ability to work efficiently and quickly
  • Ability to follow internal controls and policies

The salary for this role is anticipated to be around $65K. This does not include any potential bonus amounts, other forms of compensation, or benefits offered.  Actual compensation for successful candidates will be carefully determined based on a number of factors, including the candidate’s skills, qualifications, education and experience.
