About the Role

As part of a global team, the Trading Assistant will cover all critical aspects of trading operations and live trading including  monitoring all job failures and alerts, manual trading, trade reconciliations, trade allocations, etc. This is an exciting opportunity for an extremely organized and detailed person to join a growing team working closely alongside, and learning from, two seasoned career traders. This role is best suited for a top tier, well-rounded individual who is a team player, can learn and adapt quickly, works well under pressure, thinks on their feet, is able to multi-task, and has consistent follow through.

Key Responsibilities

  • Live coverage for trading alerts, data alerts, failed jobs, order rejects, etc.
  • Live trading support and monitoring of Firm's activity; central execution for manual trades
  • Reviewing reconciliations and resolving breaks
  • Maintaining Firm's centralized positions, prices, and P&L
  • Maintaining highly automated processes to maximize operating efficiency
  • Maintaining Firm's security master and data warehouse
  • Corporate action and trade lifecycle processing
  • Coordinating with fund administrator, prime brokers, counterparties, and vendors
  • Launching new strategies, products and/or new markets
  • Facilitating ad hoc requests from PM Teams, Senior Management, Risk, Compliance, Legal, etc.

Required Skills, Qualifications and Experience

  • 2+ years of finance experience
  • University degree or directly transferrable and applicable professional experience
  • Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively
  • Ability to work efficiently and quickly
  • Ability to follow internal controls and policies

The salary for this role is anticipated to be $70,000. This does not include any potential bonus amounts, other forms of compensation, or benefits offered.  Actual compensation for successful candidates will be carefully determined based on a number of factors, including the candidate’s skills, qualifications, education and experience.
