As part of the global Operations team, the Operations Associate will cover all aspects of risk limit operations. The Operations Associate will be the primary lead in NYC on this critical function to review, maintain, and input trading and risk limits across many dozens of strategies trading equities, futures, FX, and credit. This is a critical role with dynamic communication among Operations, Risk, PM teams, and brokers. This team player will help the firm monitor risk thresholds, set risk limits, alert and escalate anomalies, and provide oversight. The individual must have sharp and consistent attention to detail, be able to adapt quickly, work well under pressure, have consistent follow through, and be a team player.

Key Responsibilities
- Become subject matter expert on how risk limits function internally and externally
- Keep all documentation up to date for the firm and team
- Manage all limit requests during NYC hours, and ensure global handover when needed
- Oversee entire lifecycle of all risk limit requests without fail, ensuring every limit request is tracked, approved, actioned, reviewed, etc.
- Create and maintain templates for PMs and global team to utilize during risk limit lifecycle
- Provide ongoing cross training for global teammates to be able to also update limits
- Test and coordinate process improvements and automation of risk limits
- Manage the development list and status of operational risk improvements
- Propose further enhancements to monitor live portfolio metrics and risk utilization
- Develop, generate, and distribute monthly or regular risk limit reporting to management
- Facilitate ad hoc requests from Senior Management, Risk, PM teams, Compliance, etc.
Required Skills, Qualifications and Experience
- 0-3 years of finance experience
- University degree or directly transferrable and applicable professional experience
- Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively
- Ability to work efficiently and quickly
- Ability to follow internal controls and policies
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel. SQL proficiency is a plus
The salary for this role is anticipated to be between $65,000 and $80,000. This range does not include any potential bonus amounts, other forms of compensation, or benefits offered. Actual compensation for successful candidates will be carefully determined based on a number of factors, including the candidate’s skills, qualifications, education and experience.
