Purpose of the Position: 

A Senior Software Engineer is the technical leader for their team and in their applications. They are able understand the technology stack implemented within the scope of their application and infrastructure.   

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will have the responsibility to drive projects forward, mentor junior team members, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. By delivering innovative and reliable software, you contribute to the success of our organization and make a meaningful impact in the industry.  This position will work closely with the product owners of the team’s applications.  The product owner is the liaison between the business and product management team.

 

Core Responsibilities

 

  • Be the technical expert in the specialized areas of the applications the team is responsible for.
  • Provide mentorship to other developers when they have questions or technical blockers.
  • Delivers and contributes code that is exemplary in its practices (code quality, security, best practices) so that other developers can use as an example.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of the architecture and infrastructure being used. Work with Enhesa Architecture team on future development choices and decisions.
  • Ensures documentation is occurring by the team and is reviewed whenever significant changes occur.
  • Presents or demos functionality at Engineering Community Events
  • Contributes to the hiring decisions of more software engineering team members within their team.
  • As a tech lead role
    • Comprehensive code reviews ensuring the team is adhering to best practices, code quality, etc.
    • Is the lead of the Scrum Team who helps their teammates make the best possible technical decisions and achieve engineering excellence.
    • Assist team members in debugging and resolving technical issues.
  • Work with the Product Owner of the products the team is responsible for to:
    • Ensure all tickets are well defined before any work begins
    • Answer any technical questions for the Product Owner, ensuring the Product Owner is able to continue to grow their understanding of the application.
    • Help the Product Owner understand any technical barriers or blockers for a feature the business wants to implement.

 

Requirements

  • Minimum Bachelor’s (or equivalent degree / experience) in computer science or related field

Experience

  • Professional background in software development in AWS Lambda, Node.js, Angular, JavaScript frameworks, Typescript, JavaScript and / or .NET or similar technologies. Experience with technologies like Docker, Elasticsearch, Kafka, Microsoft Azure and Aurelia JavaScript Framework are an asset.

Skills

  • Passionate about software engineering.
  • Hands-on experience in the whole software development lifecycle, from planning, over development and delivery, to production support.
  • Very good communication in English and analytical skills.

 

Salary Range

$85,000 - $95,000 USD
