Job Summary
The Hospice Associate Director of Compliance and Quality is responsible for supporting the development, implementation, and oversight of compliance and quality initiatives across the hospice program. This role ensures adherence to regulatory requirements, promotes best practices, and drives continuous improvement through data analysis, project management, and reporting. The position collaborates with leadership, clinical teams, and external stakeholders to maintain high standards of care and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Compliance Oversight: Assist in monitoring adherence to federal, state, and accreditation standards (CMS, CHAP, etc.). Support internal audits, risk assessments, and corrective action plans. Maintain current knowledge of hospice regulations and communicate updates to staff.
- Quality Improvement: Participate in the development and execution of quality improvement initiatives, including CAHPS and Star Rating strategies. Analyze performance metrics and identify opportunities for improvement. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to implement evidence-based practices.
- Data Mining & Interpretation: Extract and analyze data from EMR systems, CASPER reports, and other sources to identify trends and compliance risks. Interpret complex data sets to provide actionable insights for leadership. Develop dashboards and scorecards for performance monitoring.
- Project Management: Lead and coordinate compliance and quality projects from initiation to completion. Create timelines, track deliverables, and ensure alignment with organizational goals. Facilitate cross-functional meetings and maintain project documentation.
- Reporting & Tools Development: Design and maintain reporting tools for compliance and quality metrics. Prepare executive summaries, presentations, and detailed reports
- for leadership and regulatory bodies. Ensure data accuracy and timely submission of required reports.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Project Management, or related field required.
- Minimum 3 years in hospice or healthcare compliance and quality roles. Proven experience in data analysis, project management, and regulatory compliance.
- Strong analytical and data interpretation skills. Proficiency in EMR systems, Excel, and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau). Excellent organizational and project management abilities. Effective communication and presentation skills.
- CHC (Certified in Healthcare Compliance) preferred. PMP (Project Management Professional) or equivalent a plus.
