Lending Account Executive (Hybrid)

About the role:
The Lending Account Executive's role is to support applicants who are declined or do not meet OnDeck’s primary credit criteria. The Account Executive is responsible for delivering an exceptional borrower experience, identifying the right marketplace partner for each opportunity, and driving funded volume through our alternative lending network. An AE is required to have strong consultative selling skills, disciplined workflow management, and the ability to navigate multiple products while maintaining a customer-first mindset.
Responsibilities:
- Customer Engagement and Needs Assessment:
- Engage with declined or non- fit applicants via phone, email, and SMS to understand the SMB’s business goals, needs, and financial profile.
- Deliver a transparent, consultative experience by curating a solution clearly and setting accurate expectations.
- Follow required cadences and talk tracks, consent disclosures, and compliance guidelines across all borrower interactions.
- Product Knowledge and Deal Execution:
- Analyze credit files, business performance, industry type, and borrower needs to identify the appropriate product fit.
- Submit complete and accurate applications, and proactively manage lender requests and updates.
- Have a deep understanding of the suite of products we offer.
- Identifies the right marketplace lender for each opportunity and clearly curates a transparent transaction between lender and borrower.
- Pipeline Management and Performance:
- Own daily pipeline execution: new declines, re-engagements, callbacks, doc request, offer presentation, and lender updates.
- Achieve monthly KPI targets related to assigned opportunities, volume funded, funded deals, revenue contribution,
- Adhere to call cadence, follow up expectations, and activity requirements.
- Participate in coaching sessions and training to continually improve sales acumen and product knowledge.
- Share any lender friction points and workflow challenges with your Team Lead.
- Contribute to a collaborative, high-ownership culture where best practices are shared.
Requirements:
- 1-3 years in sales, account management, or customer facing roles - fintech or SMB lending preferred.
- Strong consultative selling and solution-matching abilities
- Proficient with CRM systems, Excel/Sheets, and standard tech stacks.
- Excellent phone presence and written communication skills.
- Strong Organization and pipeline management.
- A team-oriented mindset with openness to coaching, feedback, and collaboration
Compensation:
The budgeted hourly rate for this position ranges is $21.00 to $30.24. This role qualifies for additional compensation through a performance-based incentive plan. The On-Target Earnings (OTE), which includes base salary plus target bonus performance at 100% attainment, is $121,000 to $140,000 annually. Please note that incentive compensation is not guaranteed and is dependent on achieving defined performance metrics.
