We are currently seeking a H&S Professional to work as a full-time consultant at a client site in Hopewell, VA. This position is based on a 6-month contract with the potential for extension. This is a dynamic opportunity to make a meaningful impact by driving safety culture and compliance in a manufacturing environment.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
In this position, you will:
- Conduct regular facility inspections and safety audits to identify hazards and maintain compliance.
- Lead and manage all aspects of safety and environmental compliance for industrial and manufacturing sites.
- Manage environmental compliance requirements and documentation as applicable to site operations.
- Deliver toolbox talks, safety orientation, and task-specific training.
- Coach and mentor staff on safe work practices and critical risk controls.

Lead and support regulatory inspections, audits, and compliance reporting.
- Coordinate emergency response drills and maintain site emergency plans.
- Track, analyze, and report safety metrics, including OSHA recordkeeping and workers’ compensation data.
- Maintain accurate logs, training records, inspection checklists, and incident reports.
- Provide weekly and monthly safety metrics to project leadership.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
Minimum Skills and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety & Health or related field (Associate degree with extensive experience considered).
- 10+ years of progressive EHS leadership experience in industrial or manufacturing environments.
- Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations, DOT requirements, HAZWOPER, and environmental compliance standards.
- Experience with safety program development and implementation.
- Proven experience leading incident investigations and regulatory inspections.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to train others.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and EHS Management systems.
Preferred Skills:
- CHST, STS, CSP, or other recognized safety credentials.
- Familiarity with ISO 45001/14001 or similar management systems.
