Position Description
· Configure, operate, and maintain Windows and Linux systems in compliance with defined security standards.
· Manage user accounts, credentials, permissions, access rights, storage allocations, and Active Directory Group Policies.
· Maintain IT infrastructure, including servers, computers, routers, switches, firewalls, printers, and ensure timely security updates.
· Perform routine field security scans, system assessments, and asset audits; document findings and provide recommendations to management.
· Support system security by helping to detect, prevent, and resolve breaches, viruses, and vulnerabilities.
· Contribute to risk-mitigation activities, including backup strategies, disaster recovery plans, and user security policies.
· Develop and execute test plans and procedures for new IT infrastructure, hardware, and system implementations.
· Troubleshoot and provide system-level technical support for integrated systems involving electrical, mechanical, and software components.
· Document system configurations, troubleshooting procedures, changes, and solutions in a centralized knowledge base.
· Assist in creating and maintaining internal technical documentation, IT process manuals, and policy guidelines.
· Stay current with emerging technologies, best practices, and industry trends to enhance overall system performance and security posture.
Qualifications Required:
· Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field and 2 years of experience.
· Basic understanding of Windows and Linux system administration, security scanning tools (Nessus, Symantec or similar) and system auditing.
· Familiarity with IT infrastructure components such as servers, switches, firewalls, and virtual environments.
· Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn.
· Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
· Proficiency in written and oral communication to allow for efficient and effective exchanges with users and to produce quality written products.
· Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
· The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Qualifications Desired:
· Relevant experience in system administration, IT security, or a related discipline. (Internship or co-op experience may be considered for entry-level applicants.)
· Working knowledge of Python, Adobe, Office products, MySQL, Group Policy, Application Management.
· Experience implementing federal IT security controls as outlined in NIST SP 800-53/4 or other security frameworks.
· Experience with or knowledge of recovery procedures, system performance-monitoring tools, active directory, Multifactor authentication.
· Exposure to troubleshooting multi-disciplinary systems (electrical, mechanical, software).
· Familiarity with automation tools or scripting languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell).
· Basic knowledge of identity management and backup strategies.

Salary Range
$70,720 - $100,880 USD
