Position Description
ENSCO Rail, Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer to join our established development team providing services and solutions to the railroad industry. The Developer will be responsible for planning, designing, implementing, maintaining, and testing n-tier enterprise applications and web-based solutions for a range of products supporting rail safety.
This role involves developing, maintaining, and migrating n-tier architecture-based software applications, including building and managing software pipelines that process and present data from remote sensor systems (accelerometers, vision systems, strain gauges) and corresponding rail simulation results. The work leverages modern programming languages, relational and NoSQL databases, and AWS Cloud services. The successful candidate will contribute to both back-end and front-end systems while collaborating with simulation engineers and data scientists to deliver scalable solutions.
Qualifications Required:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.

3+ years relevant experience.

Strong proficiency in Java, Python, PHP and JavaScript frameworks like React.

Experience designing multi-tier applications using object-oriented design patterns.

Database experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL and NoSQL.

Familiarity with AWS Cloud services (EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda) and monitoring tools (CloudWatch, Log4j).

Experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control (Git).

Ability to work in Linux and Windows environments.

Strong debugging and software lifecycle knowledge.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to work effectively in a team and meet deadlines.
Qualifications Desired:

Master's degree in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.

Experience with additional programming languages like C++, MATLAB, and FORTRAN preferred.

Background in rail vehicle dynamics, mechanical simulations, or sensor integration.

Familiarity with MATLAB-Python workflows, scientific visualization, and geospatial data tools.

Exposure to Agile development methodologies.

Experience with web services (REST, SOAP) and CI/CD pipelines.

Salary Range
$72,820.80 - $131,331.20 USD
