Position Description

The Marketing & Communications Specialist is responsible for developing and editing content that supports ENSCO's business, marketing and employee communications needs. The Specialist works with technical subject matter experts and business leads to translate complex information into clear, accurate content for audiences with carrying levels of technical knowledge. Assignments may include press releases, website copy, white papers, data sheets, articles, internal and executive communications, case studies, thought leadership and other marketing materials. The Specialist also looks for opportunities to extend the reach of content already being developed by the Marketing & Communications team through targeted media outreach.
The Marketing & Communications Specialist is responsible for preparing ENSCO spokespeople for media engagements and ensuring all associated planning and logistics are effectively managed. Responsibilities include identifying newsworthy developments across the company, developing key messages and briefing materials, coordinating interviews, preparing executives and subject matter experts, engaging with reporters and public affairs representatives as appropriate, and ensuring media activities are properly planned, tracked, measured, and reported.
In addition to these writing and communications responsibilities, the Specialist serves as a primary resource for media outreach and helps grow ENSCO's earned-media presence. The Specialist identifies newsworthy developments and subject matter expertise that may be relevant to reporters and industry publications, develops targeted pitches, responds to media inquiries, and builds relationships with media covering ENSCO's priority markets. The Specialist also looks for opportunities to extend the reach of content already being developed by the Marketing & Communications team through earned media.

Qualifications Required:
·         Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or equivalent work experience
·         Minimum of three years developing and executing marketing and communications strategies
·         Demonstrated experience writing and editing content for online and print channels
·         Strong project management and organizational skills

Qualifications Desired:
·         Experience in Defense, Intelligence, Space and/or Transportation sectors
·         Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills across media materials
·         Ability to translate complex technical or business topics into clear, compelling messages
·         Familiarity with media monitoring, measurement, and reporting tools
·         Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
·         Strong collaboration skills across executive, technical, and business teams
·         Proactive, self-directed, and skilled at identifying newsworthy opportunities
·         Familiarity with government contracting and security-sensitive environments a plus
·         Experience utilizing AI as a tool to improve productivity while maintaining a critical eye on content
·         Experience writing content optimized for SEO and GEO search
·         Strong relationships with journalists, editors, producers, and industry media
·         Demonstrated success pitching stories, experts, company news, and thought leadership
·         Experience preparing executives and subject-matter experts for media interviews
·         Strong news judgment and understanding of traditional and digital media
·         Experience supporting issues management and crisis communications

Salary Range

$29.78 - $46.13 USD
