Senior Accountant

As a key member of the Finance team, the Senior Accountant is responsible for leading critical corporate accounting and financial reporting activities. This role ensures accurate treatment, analysis, and reconciliation of corporate accounts—including leases and intercompany transactions—while supporting the integrity of the company’s overall financial operations. The Senior Accountant will also provide functional oversight within the accounting department, contribute to process improvements, and support compliance with internal policies and monthly reporting requirements.

Responsibilities

General Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review journal entries and supporting documents as part of the corporate monthly financial close.
  • Prepare and review lease accounting activities, including maintaining lease schedules, ensuring appropriate classification and treatment, and completing related journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Monitor and reconcile intercompany transactions and related activities.
  • Prepare and review balance sheet account reconciliations on a monthly basis.
  • Work with different accounting teams to understand transactions and events each period.

 Internal Financial Reporting 

  • Compile monthly financial reporting and analysis as it relates to company performance and results.
  • Prepare analytical reviews at the end of each month-end and quarter-end to assist in the review procedure.

 Process Improvement and  Internal Controls 

  • Continuously assess and enhance existing accounting processes to increase efficiency and accuracy in the accounting records.
  • Develop and implement procedures to support operational improvements and strengthen financial reporting practices.
  • Maintain effective internal controls over financial reporting by ensuring proper documentation, review procedures, and compliance with company policies.

Qualifications 

  • A. /B.S. in Accounting or Finance required.
  • 3-6 years of experience required.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of public accounting experience preferred.
  • CPA preferred
  • Strong financial reporting and accounting skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with all levels of staff.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical abilities, organized with attention to detail.
  • Organized and efficient. Motivated self-starter that is comfortable working in unstructured environment.
