Summary

The Sales Manager will be required to develop leads and originate mortgage loans and respond to referrals from branch personnel and other sources. Additionally, candidates should have a comprehensive knowledge of mortgage regulations and processes as well as products and services to cultivate trustworthy relationships with customers. The Sales Manager must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and written, exercise independent judgment and comprehend complex instructions, technical and financial materials and forms related to mortgage loans.

Duties and Responsibilities
The primary job duties and responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:

  • Promote Envoy's products by engaging in local community activities and organizations to develop new business; Develop relationships with real estate professionals, homebuilders, and other referral sources to generate qualified mortgage leads
  • Keep informed of trends, changes and developments in the local real estate market
  • Request and gather relevant information/documents from the borrower to complete the application, its structure and all loan disclosures, in coordination with processing as well as underwriting
  • Adhere to all Envoy standards, including, but not limited to production minimums and customer service
  • Educate borrowers on current offerings and programs for which they qualify
  • Monitor the process and communicate effectively with the borrower and all other parties to the transaction on the status of the loan
  • Present complete and accurate files to the Processor
  • Coordinate the flow of information to all concerned parties
  • Stay current with required continuing education, new products, Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae guidelines, Envoy guidelines and overlays, and HUD guidelines
  • Stay current on personal finance principles to offer comprehensive mortgage advice to clients
  • Ensure maintenance of a current license to perform loan origination functions
  • Comply with local, state and federal laws regarding position
  • Conduct business in an ethical manner and in the best interest of Envoy, with Envoy's core values in mind
  • Ensure all marketing is performed in a manner that is compliant
  • Participate in and contribute to Company training initiatives as needed
  • Learn leadership and management best practices from Branch Manager and SVP
  • Support branch sales staff: reviewing scenarios, file structure options, pipeline management and problem solving
  • Recruit, hire, mentor, and manage Loan Originator staff in accordance with company and industry standards. This includes training and mentoring in areas such as product knowledge and sales training
  • Supervise and mentor 1-3 originators
  • May work more than 50% of the time out the office and is primarily commission-based
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent, Bachelor's degree is preferred
  • Five (5) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in mortgage origination, with 2+ years in a sales leadership role, preferred
  • In-depth knowledge of mortgage loan products (FHA/VA/CONV/USDA) and knowledge of mortgage processes, procedures, and documentation
  • Working knowledge / Proficiency in Desktop Underwriter/Desktop Originator (DU/DO), Loan Prospector (LP), and originating systems, Encompass experience preferred
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Success in growing sales and revenue goals (must be verifiable)
  • Exceptional follow-up, time management, interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills
  • Willingness to learn, self- motivated, social media savvy and a forward thinker
  • Excellent customer service skills and working in a team environment
  • Must be a self-starter who is reliable, detail oriented and the ability to resolve issues
  • Must have NMLS and SAFE, UST, preferred, or able to obtain applicable State NMLS license within 30 - 90 days of employment or employment will be terminated
  • Satisfactorily pass background check

Physical/Mental Requirements

  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear

Compensation:
- Regular Pay: $15.00 - $20.00/hour
Supplemental Pay:
- Commission Pay
