Senior Analytical Scientist, QC

Position Overview
The QC  Senior Analytical Scientist performs various scientific analyses to evaluate the quality of raw materials, in-process materials, and finished goods and ensure compliance with established standards.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Quality Testing: Oversee and conduct complex quality control tests on raw materials, in-process materials and finished products. 
  • Equipment: Perform routine equipment maintenance to ensure optimal performance and calibrate according to SOPs to maintain accuracy.
  • Technology Transfer and Validation: Support TT and method validation activities including execution. 
  • Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve issues with analytical instrumentation in compliance with quality standards.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: compile, interpret, and document statistical data from testing processes to confirm compliance with established quality standards or identify deviations.  Familiarity with LIMS for data tracking and management is preferred. 
  • Collaboration: Work with project teams to integrate analytical results into project plans.
  • Training: Mentor and train junior quality control staff.

 

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in relevant fields such as Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology or related discipline.  Advanced degrees preferred.
  • Experience: 5-7+ years of experience in an analytical laboratory, preferably in pharmaceutical quality control.  A proven track record in a senior role is preferred.  
  • Skills: Proficiency with laboratory equipment and analytical techniques including chromatography (Waters HPLC & Empower 3), UPLC, IEF, SDS, pH, TOC, Protein concentration etc. Experience in biologic therapeutics (mAB) is preferred.

Salary Range: $83,000 annually till $100,000 annually
