What role we’re hiring for:
We are a growing fintech organization looking to add a Staff Accountant reporting directly to our Accounting Manager based in the Philippines!
Work hours: Monday to Friday 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM CST
What you’ll be responsible for in this role:
- Assist with the development and documentation of business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen the Company’s internal control environment
- Participate in the streamlining of workflows, processes, and standard operating procedures
- Prepare and post journal entries in accordance with GAAP
- Perform vendor trend analysis to ensure completeness of monthly expenses
- Assist in preparing monthly flux analysis
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, annual account reconciliations, including bank reconciliation
- Review and approve employee expense reimbursements and company credit card transactions
- Assist with audit preparation
- Assist in reviewing and processing accounts payable
- Prepare check run files for review by the Accounting Manager or Controller and process electronic payments and ACH
- Maintain vendor records (including retrieving W-9s) and respond to inquiries
- Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the timely and accurate flow of financial information
What experiences and skills are necessary to be successful in this role:
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in either public or corporate accounting, or both
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field preferred
- A working understanding of US GAAP theory and application; bonus if you know IFRS!
- Experience with NetSuite and consolidated financial reporting for multi-currency, multi-entity, or multi-national operations
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, formulas)
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
